Ok, so i have been losing weight slowly but surely now for 2 years, i have hit several plateaus etc and have always managed to break through them. At first i didnt exercise, i started upping this to twice a week and over time got it up to 7 days a week for 30-45 mins with a 25min walk 5 times a week.
I work in an office 8.00 - 4.00 and i am a mum to nearly 4 year old daughter so after work it is normal household and childcare duties all evening and then a 30-45min work out.
I have been majorly stuck at this weight now for nearly 3 months, losing and gaining the same 3lbs. :grumble: needing some help!
I have been doing the 30DS (completed day 30 last night) and i know i have lost some inches (not a lot though :ohwell: ) but no weight.
I know my diet isn't always the cleanest as i still will eat chocolate or some cake etc, obviously in moderation, as i want this to be a lifestyle change not a diet and to me a lifestyle change means doing things that i can continue for the rest of my life rather than stopping and gaining the weight back, and for me a life without chocolate is basically impossible.
I am 5 ft 4
Currently weigh 128.6lbs
My BMR (depending on calculators) is between 1333 and 1417 cals a day
I currently have my activity level set as sedentary and log any exercise i do
My current daily calories goal is set at 1420
I sometimes eat all my exercise calores back - i sometimes only eat some of them back.
Can someone please give me some advice?
What should my cal goal be set at?
What should my activity level be set at?
A very frusterated and very stuck Stacie :flowerforyou:
Edited to add: on the Fat2Fit calculator for a sedentary level to reach my goal it says i should be eating 1667?

Stick to what you are doing. It takes a little longer but the results will come.0

Being 5'4" and 128lb is a good weight, especially if you are fit otherwise. Can you shake up your workout routine? Do 30DS a couple days a week, and more intense cardio a couple days? Honestly, I would not focus on the number on the scale, but how you look and feel.0

Bump, I need to know this too!0

123 is lower than my goal weight, and I'm 2 inches shorter than you.
I'm not saying you shouldn't try to reach that if you want, just that you're already at a fantastic weight for your height. If you're very muscular, which you likely are if you're doing the 30DS, you're going to weigh a bit more, but look much better. Inches are FAR more important than pounds, especially at this stage in the game. Women who are very strong and fit weigh much more than you'd think by looking at them. I'd rather be heavier but full of muscle.

Since you are not heavy and your close to your goal weight.. its going to be very hard to lose those last few lbs
,.. I have been doing Insanity.. its CRAZY.. I started my 2nd round yesterday.. I have done the 30 day shred.. its not difficult enough to lose anything when you are already little. I would suggest something different.. Insanity is hard & will challenge your body.. the 30 day shred will look like childs play :P0 -
Eat at your maintenance level for a while (between ~1670 for sedentary and ~1940 for lightly active). At the lower level that's only about 250 cal and it would take you 2 weeks to gain a 'real' pound if it's too many, so it's worth trying.0

Google "leptin levels and weight loss". I learned about this from the Body for Life weight loss program. In a nutshell, the theory is that when you are on diet and restrict your calories, your body goes into that starvation mode and hangs on to everything. Giving yourself a free day one day a week where you eat whatever you want releases leptin levels, etc, etc that allows your body to start burning calories and fat again. You just have to be careful you don't fall off your program by getting a taste of some fatty foods for a day. But vice versa, if you want to eat something naughty that you have been depriving yourself of, you can wait for your free day as a reward. The thought is that it helps people stay on their healthy eating lifestyle because they don't get frustrated and give up. My husband swares by it and I was skeptical. But, I tried it and I actually broke through the plateau. There are rules to doing this. Just a thought. Check it out. See what you think.0

Just to echo what others have said, it sounds a bit to me like your body has said enough already - I think you're at a very good weight and it's going to be near-on impossible to lose much more, and certainly to keep it off. As I'm sure you know, the slimmer you are, the more difficult it is to lose weight and I think your body is telling you that by just not shifting the last few lbs.
Trying different exercise is always good I think, try to shake up your routine. Maybe a tough exercise class like Body Attack or similar?0 -
Thanks to everyone for their replies! I think i am going to try and mix up my workouts a bit, maybe focus more on cardio, than on the strength training, also going to try and be really good and eat cleaner, although i wont be cutting all the lil treats out because i know i will end up binging in the end!
I know it is harder to lose the last few pounds when you are already in a healthy range, and that scale numbers arent everything, and i wouldnt mind so much if i was losing a decent amount of inches even, but im not :frown: . I have lost some, but only 1.5 around waist 0.5 on each arm and 0.5 on each thigh. Rest is just the same and weight is 3lb higher :indifferent: and i just get depressed i suppose.
I feel like i am putting in so much effort with my work outs and what i eat and i am seeing no results anymore. I know i should be happy that i am finally in a healthy weight etc but I am not where i want to be yet, if i could even just lose the inches i wuldnt mind but like i said thats not even really happening.
I know i am inpatient but it has taken 2 years to shed 33lbs (so many other people lose this so much quicker than i did) and i have been so close to goal for 3 months now and now i seem to be slipping further away from it and its just disheartening me!0
