Hey ladies! :-) I was wondering what activity level you are set? I'm on the computer quite a bit...obviously....LOL, but the rest of the day I'm chasing the boys, picking up, chores, errands etc. I was set at sedentary though since I was sitting quite a bit. What activity level are YOU? I'm considering upping mine. Thanks!

Mine is sedentary, and I add in other things as exercise. Like if I spend an hour picking up and vacuuming and mopping (active cleaning, not just doing dishes), I'll add in half that time as "exercise" to make sure I'm eating enough to sustain my activity. Then of course I add my actual workouts as well. The only real way to be sure is to wear a heart rate monitor all day, but I don't have one of those.

I think mine is lightly active (the one up from sedentary). I'm the same - I'm often sitting but then I'm always moving to do washing, school run, cleaning, playing with kids, shopping etc - I figure that is more active than a desk job in front of a computer all day xx
  • I'm set at sedentary even though I am busy with my kids.

Mine is on light activity, and I have a 3 year old that is highly active. :-) Seems to work fine for me. Hope that helps!

I am a full time nanny and let me tell you, when I started this job I was exhausted. Always! so much respect for how much moms do on a regular basis. You should definintely have your activity level set at lightly active if not active. I care for a 9 month old and a 3 year old so I'm constantly running around or walking to some park, through the zoo, to the store (I live in DC). I have mine set at active. I hope this helped or at least let all the good moms know how awesome they are.

Im also set at sedentary....Although I'm not sitting around eating bon bons with a 4, 2, and 1 yr old running round my house! :)
I don't log reg activity, but do log our walk, and if we're moving furniture, etc :)

Stay at home Dad here. Sedentary is what mine is set for. I have three to chase and they do require regular meals, teaching, chasing, and finding out what issue is going on at the moment. But since I'm not a mail carrier (walking all day) I don't qualify for light according to MFP. Soooo, I just call it what it is. I have a 3 year old, 7 year old and soon to be 11 year old. And we home school. If I'm on my butt most of the day I call it sedentary even though i'm up for a large part of it only because it doesn't seem like a job where I'm on my feet all day (waitress, etc.) I just thought I'd throw in my two cents worth.

I have mine set for lightly active and i don't log my regular cleaning, chasing the kids or walks. I do however log busy days of extra cleaning, like weekends, hiking, walks with the kids in the stroller. I started out at sedentary but once I lost about 15 lbs I had to change it because I was hungry all the time. Try one for a week or two and see how it goes for you, if it works keep it if not change it :)

I'm about 30 miles outside of the District now, but I was a nanny in D.C. before I had my own. :-) They lived in the Tenleytown/AU area. We are now in Germantown. :-)))

I recently set mine to active because I recently discovered I wasn't eating enough to maintain my goal (woo hoo!!!). I have plenty of stairs I go up and down several times a day with very large laundry loads (7 people in this household)... but I also log some chores if they are extras, like washing windows, changing the bed sheets (bunk beds are a workout!) of if it's a vaccum-behind-the-furniture day ;-)

    It is a privilege to be a stay-at-home mom!:flowerforyou:

sedentary, and if I say clean for 1/2 day then I log 1/2 the time as activity. although I don't think I sit that much!
