Started my journey of improved diet and exercise on a daily basis on May 9th 2017 barely able to walk two miles without being gassed. Fast forward to now with exercising (strength and cardio) every day and an extremely heathy diet....just last month ran and won my age group in a 5k. If you had told me May 8th that I'd be doing that, I would have laughed. Love working out now....huge part of my life.10

Completed my first half marathon on Sept. 24th of this year.10

When my brother, who has been an athlete his entire life, asked me what my resting heart rate is currently (I've never been an athlete, as I have some physical limitations. I've been obese most of my life but have been working hard in the gym for 18 months and lost 105 lbs). I confirmed with my fitbit and told him my resting heart rate these days is averaging at about 53-55 bpm. He was impressed and told me doctors would consider me an athlete! That made proud and made me smile!
That’s awesome. Good for you. I’m in the same range now myself.

Getting the confidence to compete in a power lifting competition.
A 235 lb. squat (when I started I couldn't even do a barbell squat without tipping over because my reconstructed foot was so weak).
Comparing side-by-sides of my back/arms/abs/legs from two years ago to now.5 -
For me it would have to do with running. I was a college athlete. I played soccer on scholarship. I was a sprinter and one of the fastest on the team, but I hated distance running. In college the best I ever did was 2.5 miles in 20 minutes and I trained my butt off for months to do that. However, once In middle school I ran a 6:18 mile and in high school I ran an 800 in under 3 minutes. I have high expectations due to this that I’ll probably never reach. Fast forward to when I started the journey to get back in shape. I was 30 and had gained over 80 pounds in part due to side effects of medications. I never thought I would run again or lose the weight. Today I have lost over 60 pounds and I am once again running. It’s a love hate relationship. I hate doing it but love when I’m done. Today I ran 3.37 miles in 36 minutes. Not the fastest time in the world but I’m just happy I can run that far without walking. I then came home and ran another mile. On the treadmill I can run 2 miles in 17 something too. I wish my pace was as good outside tho. I still want to lose about 20 more pounds and get back to my college weight. I can also do 3 pull ups and 50 push-ups. Lastly, like someone mention my resting pulse is back in the 50s.4

Last week 5k in 27:14 on hilly course at altitude.
As a young guy:
22.3-sec 200m
51-sec 400
1:58 -800m (in January)
15-mile long run with a big hill run in the middle at about a 7:00 min/mile pace
113-pushups in 2-min (took 3rd place in a push-up contest)
5x60 pushups regularly
3x10 pullups regularly
benched 245-lbs free-weights off of just push-up tng
Could carry two 94-lbs sacks of cement, one on each shoulder for short distance, weighed 155-lbs.4 -
Today I ran my first 5K...and was in the top 10 finishers for my age and gender.14

Went from sedentary and over 300 pounds to finishing Ironman Wisconsin in under 12 and a half hours.11

Doesnt exactly answer the question at all but id just like to point out just how pleased i am with myself and my mindset- I read through here and got so happy and excited for people and their achievements- Which I come nowhere close to. Didnt judge myself poorly or even cross my mind to compare myself against until I realized i was proud i didnt hah. Was literally nothing but proud. Go everyone ^_^
I really dont have any "fitness" accomplishments as far as like the best or greatest or anything- But I was told I was going to die 3.5 years ago from a heart infection. Couldnt even get myself out of bed to pee on my own for 2 years. Here I am not dead. Walking much further thn just to pee most days. I remember when i started a few blocks walk was HUGE. My average just kept getting more and more. Averaged 10 miles a day. Iv relaxed it now because maintenance. Maybe one day ill be able to run, Iv been to scared because my bad heart. I think i got this, I can do it. When im ready14 -
I can do 20 push-ups! Like real ones, on my toes.8

One particular moment that really stands out was when i successfully completed 5x5 100Lbs on overhead press. And I didnt even struggle! When i started weight lifting i couldnt even lift the empty bar over my head so I was really proud to hit my first big goal.11

Broke my state's deadlift record for my age/weight. 374.8 lbs.11

Completed the half Ironman on a team with my trainer and another client. It was not my best swim, by far, but without having to be pulled or hold on to a kayak or anything, I got my head on straight, finished the swim, and ran up the hill to transition to pass the chip off to the biker.4

I broke my tibia plateau in November 2016, I had never made any effort with running before that. I completed my first half marathon on Sunday. So proud of myself6

Started lifting for the first time in my life this year!
I've always been athletic (soccer, martial arts, kickboxing), but I've always been too scared to lift.
I went from a 3-day newb split, to a 5-day newb split, and now I'm switching to a 4-day intermediate split. To progress!5
