Trying yet once again! Pepsi Addict

Hello! I have tried fitness pal a couple times before but never stuck with it very long.

My story is that as a child I was a very picky eater. Definitely didn't like or eat vegetables and very few fruits. Somehow I managed to grow up into adulthood LOL! I was scrawny and in high school tried to GAIN weight. As I got older my tastes broadened and by my mid 20s reached a good weight and felt good. However my new appreciation of and willingness to try new foods led to slowly adding more pounds than necessary. Of course I like my pop and snacks too. Now I'm on the brink of 40 and according to a BMI calculation I am considered "obese". As a teenager I never would have dreamt I would be at this point!

My crutches are eating out a lot, drinking Pepsi and not watching portion control. I'm only cooking for one so oftentimes nothing sounds good and it's hard to be motivated to cook. I do enjoy cooking for others and have hosted many themed meals.

Like I said I've tried using fitness pal before but have never joined the communication. My real life friends are tired of my short lived "I'm no longer drinking Pepsi" phases. So I'm hoping an online community of those in the same boat can help me.

Thanks!
Rosalie

Hey, feel free to add me! I just recently cut soda out of my diet altogether. We can help each other!

I drank way too much soda for my own good. Can't say I'll never go back to it, but with my recent weight loss efforts I do find that if I stop drinking it, I also stop craving stuff like burgers and fries that "go with it"... or at least they did on my old frat-boy diet. If I drink lightly-flavored non-fizzy water, I find eating healthier is easier.

Pepsi addict here too!! I always have to switch to diet, but hate diet Pepsi so i go with diet dew. But i also have a "real" Pepsi as a treat occasionally, if i have the calories for it.. just put it in MyFitnessPal :)
It actually starts to taste too sweet when im off of it for awhile ;)

I wouldn't have lost my weight without diet soda :). And I have fast food or other treats every once and awhile - just less often and smarter choices (usually LOL). Just keep logging - don't get frustrated and give up if you go off plan, just do better tomorrow and learn from your mistakes. No one is perfect, and getting back on track is in my opinion one of the biggest differences between people who succeed and those who don't. Good luck!

Thanks all for the encouragement! I will start logging tomorrow. It's always helpful to me to lay out the game plan (meal ideas) the day before. We're doing a weight loss challenge at work so hopefully that also will be a motivation!!
