Not sure what to do!

So it doesnt matter what I eat aslong as it fits in my calories? Should I bother with macros? I know I must sound like an idiot but Ive always been on a diet and it is hard to get out of that mindset.
OP don't get too bogged down in majoring in the minors to start. Just log your food, try to hit your calorie goal, and learn what foods keep you satisfied at the right calorie level as you go. In general, protein, fat, and fiber can help you feel full, so try to hit those numbers if you can but don't worry if you don't always get there. Your calories will determine if you lose weight or not. Obviously, you want to eat nutritious food for your health, but there's no reason to cut out foods you like either. Be patient and good luck!
Sorry. Hi! Apparently I've been a member of MyFitnessPal for +- 1 year but didn't use the site much 'cause I didn't feel a great need for that but I think that now the time has come.
My weigh in is coming up in the pm not the am today therefore I am scared of what the scales might say this time...
In the last week's 3 training sessions I've burned 1,632 cal but I'm not sure if I can lose weight with that little training. I must say that I trained 2 times in one day on last Tuesday. I'm really scared of gaining all the weight that I've lost so far. The more I gain the more I've got to lose, right?
P.S.: I'm just after some weigh in advice at this stage that's all...
If you could help that would be great and appreciated!!0 -
@standout00 perhaps it would be best if you start your own thread rather than take over the OP's thread.
Try reading the stickie posts and reading through the Diet & Weight Loss forum too, often the responses to other people's posts can answer your own questions as well.1 -

You ate in a calorie deficit. You can still eat "unhealthy" foods and lose weight...all the time? No, but there's nothing wrong with it every now and then.
Eating unhealthy = weight loss doesn't really work. In order to lose weight you have to eat right + exercise.
No, you just have to eat less than you burn...0 -

Sorry. I should start by saying I'm Russian therefore I have to translate everything I don't understand... Maybe I didn't do the right thing... Thanks for the answer! I'll start my own thread then... I didn't mean to take over the whole thread!0 -
I feel much more ready now, thank you everyone, I am just so used to weight watchers/slimming world etc etc so this will be a big change, but if they worked so well for me I wouldnt be here in the first place. Ill just focus on calories and upping my exercise a little bit for now.2

OP, it works!! I started the last week of June and so far have lost 22 lbs. just by logging and working out. I've been working out so I can eat more. I'm over fifty and believed I wouldn't be able to lose any weight--I was very skeptical. Pleasantly surprised...I still have 78 lbs. to go, but I'm almost 1/4 of the way there. I like MFP because it is very straight forward. Just eat the calories it tells you to and log everything. I only wish I had known about it years ago and could have avoided a lot of diets that were just guesswork and in the end unsustainable. Good luck!2
