Are these good daily meals?

Breakfast: Fruit smoothie (strawberry, blueberry, banana, or other fruits).
Lunch: Salad or Veggie Sandwich (lettuces, tomatoes, pickles, sprouts) with a slice of cheddar cheese
Snack: 1 cup 2% milk with 2 slices of toast with butter
Dinner: Green Smoothie (1 cup spinach, 2-4 Kale leaves, 1/2 cucumber, 1/4 cup cilantro, 2 medium-sized carrots, 1 stalk celery,
lemon juice)
Snack and Breakfast are interchangeable. The vegetables may vary but I try to have atleast 4 different types of veggies.
I'm a vegetarian. Should I be adding anything else to my meals? It seems like I'm getting under 1200 calories though with this meal
plan. What do you suggest I modify?

Maybe try adding some protein into your diet. I put whey protein in my smoothies. Also, it's better to mix things up and not have the same thing every day. Sticking to a strict daily diet plan typically doesn't work for very long because it's easy to get bored with it.0

Yeah you are lacking on protein.0 -
I would suggest adding nuts, beans, more cheese (maybe cottage cheese), or some protein powder to one of your shakes so that you get more protein.0

First thing I thought was that you were a little light on protein. Add some beans to round that out a little more! I think even making a homemade blackbean paste for your sandwich, or adding black/garbanzo beans to your salad, could really help.
Also -- your dinner is REALLY light. I'm not surprised you're under your calories. I would add something to your dinner, like an open-faced sandwich, some hummus and pita, etc.
Good job on being and fruits and veggie vegetarian, though! Most vegetarians I've encountered (and I was one, and lived in a vegan-only house for a year) are "junk food" vegetarians. Not good!0 -
yes definately more proteins....maybe add some nuts if you like those or some peanut butter or eggs???? hope this helps....0

I'm also a vegetarian and agree, you need more protein. Protein shakes and greek yogurt are great!0

I was thinking you need more protein, too. Maybe put peanut butter on your toast? Maybe have some quinoa with your green smoothie? I also know of people who put wheat germ in their fruit smoothies to get extra protein. And add a handful of nuts to your salads.0

If you are just a Vegetarian and not a Vegan, which by your use of dairy, I'm going with Vegetarian you could eat some eggs.0

I'd add in some protein - whole grains too maybe. Do you do dairy? If so, greek yogurt. Nuts? Beans?0

Your Green Smoothie sounds interesting...what does it taste like?0 -

As everyone said protein and variety. I am a vegetarian (I deceived this after I realized I don't really eat meat). I drink soy milk products or have whey protein with some skim milk. This puts my protein usually over the recommended values. Also mix it up a bit! =D
Try Boca Burgers if you have not already. They are a meatless burger with soy. There are different kinds. Hope I helped.0 -

I haven't really used my diary since I eat a lot of Indian food and its very hard to find in the database and/or the calories are skewed so I just track my calories via excel.
Alright it seems my dinner is pretty light (since I don't like to eat a large meal for dinner). I will add Greek yogurt, protein shakes or some other form of protein for my dinner. I can also add that to my shake in the morning.
I will change up my meals so I won't get bored but will defiantly be incorporating the same amount of fruits and veggies daily. I've been a reader of this forum but haven't really been posting. Thanks for the great advice.0 -
I'm only having the green smoothie for a few days. It tastes terrible but I chug it down. I'm still working on making it taste better so I can sip it down lol0

Why not throw some fruits in with the greens? Something really sweet like fresh pineapple or mango chunks. If you do, I would omit the cilantro though. lol I love the Superfood drink and it has really sweet fruits in it to offset the greens.0 -

Try eating more beans. Filled with protein and vegetarian friendly. Plus, you get a good whack of fibre!
