Brand new first time ever doing this

My title explains it all. I am not entirely sure if I am doing this correctly or if anyone will see this but let’s take a shot.
This is definitely quite intimidating putting my weight loss journey out there. But the more I read it’s great to see people help each other out in motivating and inspiring one another. I am currently on a 6 month monitored diet with a bariatric specialist in which I cannot gain any weight. It has been a challenge but my beginning weight was 303 and I only lost 7 pounds in a month. I don’t even know if 7 pounds is average, good or bad, but it’s something —is the way I saw it. As I went in for month 2 ( today) I weighed the same and only lost 8oz. I know this probably has to do with me slipping up and eating excessively wrong for a couple days and lacking exercise on those same days. But I am back on track and really want to have some extra support from those of you who know the struggle to be obese and now trying to lose weight.
I told myself my first goal was to weigh below 300lbs. Mission accomplished, but I am right on the border of 300 so I have to keep going! I truly do not want the surgery and want instead to do this naturally. I just hope I can succeed and prove to myself once and for all I can do it.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about why I am doing this.

Welcome @crrcs21 I hope you find myfitnesspal to be a supportive place! I'll send you a friend add (it's always nice to have friends) and hopefully we can help each other through our journeys. I have been here for about 4 years or so and have lost 25% of my body weight. Still going though, have another 12-20lb left to lose.
Also, 7lb in a month is fantastic! Congratulations2 -
My favorite expression is that it doesn't matter how slow you go as long as you don't stop! You can do this!6

hi there, 7lbs lost in a month is great, 1 -2 lbs a week is a sensible and healthy amount to lose.
i was offered a gastric bypass about 4 yrs ago, but due to an ongoing medical problem it couldn't happen, so i decided i would lose the weight,'the old fashioned way', i have lost 150lbs in the last 19months which averages about 1.9lbs a week... so the way you are losing your weight is a great way to start, and is very 'doable'.
my starting weight was 456lbs.
good luck with your journey.... there are lots of great people on here and lots of help and motivation.
I have sent you a friends request.1 -

I sent you a friend request... You just need to stick with it, and maybe tweak your way of eating a little if what you’re doing doesn’t work for you (or isn’t something you can stick to in the long run). I’ve tried all kinds of diets over the years, but have never been able to stick with it. I’ve finally found one that works for me, and it’s wonderful. Don’t ever give up... Best of luck to you1
