Gluten Question

Hello,
I’m 32 years old and for the last few years I have been diagnosed with Gastritis which has caused me some issues but here recently like within the last few months when I try to eat certain foods they get like stuck in my esophagus or they feel like they do and I have to go and make myself puke it back up before I can catch my breath again.
I have noticed it happens with certain foods like milk and breads and a few other foods. My fiancé said she thinks that I am allergic to Gluten but I ain’t sure. I really don’t feel like going to the doctors over this matter and I was wondering if anyone else in here is allergic to gluten and if so if they had any of these symptoms. Any information would be helpful!

I have told my doctors in the past about this issue and they don’t seem to think it’s anything serious but I was just wondering what some of the symptoms was for gluten and things?0

There is actually no such thing as a gluten allergy. There can be wheat allergies but not to gluten.
There are gluten sensitivities. Symptoms include anemia, reflux, migraines, MS-like brain impact, neuropathy, IBS symptoms, fatigue, hair loss, arthralgias, and dozens of other issues. If you do suspect gluten sensitivities, get tested for celiac disease. If you go gluten free you cannot be tested without reintroducing high levels of gluten to you diet for 3 months.3 -
Your esophagus may need to be stretched it happens quite often but you need to go to the doctor because one of these times you may not be able to get it back up and it will have to be surgically removed !! It’s called a bolus!! Look it up!!!1

I’m not trying to be disgusting or anything but when the food feels lodged I have to make myself vomit it back up and when it comes up it’s drenched in thick clear snotty feeling liquid.
It seems to do it more when I wait all day and then eat. I’m not really sure what’s going on when I tell the doctors all they say is that it’s part of my gastritis.0 -
Are you actually having trouble breathing during these episodes? If so, I would follow that up aggressively until you get an answer that doesn't involve a shrug. If you feel like something's stuck in your throat and you can't swallow it and need to bring it back up, it could very well be a gastritis symptom, but again I would continue pressing for some options for managing that since it's a really unpleasant issue for you.
I agree with the posters above, there's no such thing as a gluten allergy. Since you have a gastritis diagnosis, I would work with your doctor to come up with strategies for managing those symptoms. If your doctor doesn't seem interested, it's time to find a new doctor.1 -
The last few days I haven’t been experiencing the issue thankfully but I am concerned because with me being diganosed with gastritis it seems like I’m not allowed to eat a lot of the foods I like. Wishing I knew of a way around this.0

Was you gastritis diagnosed via endoscopy?

No they diagnosed me with it by making me drink something then they did a X-ray or something like that and diagnosed me with gastritis.0

that doesn't sound like a gluten allergy. Generally, gluten allergies make your bones ache, perpetually tired, can't concentrate, hard to gain weight. If you are really concerned about gluten, go to your Dr. and get a Celiacs test.1

Gastritis, is usually short term and treatment is usually 2 or 3 weeks !!! I’m thinking you making yourself vomit could be causing your gastritis problem!! You need to find out why you are getting a bolus in your throat!!!0

If I feel uncomfortable with milk you might be lactose intolerant

If you think you're gluten intolerant, you must go to doc and get it correctly diagnosed. It is very serious and can result in malnutrition and death.0
