Anyone on here that actually does NOT have a Facebook account?
I deleted mine 7 months ago and don't regret it one bit. My mind feels so much clearer and free from all the negativity, inaneness, shallowness, and drama (politics, selfies, gossip, farmville invites, pokes, etc). Besides, I don't want my co-workers and employer spying on me on there.
You?
You?

Got an account but only for work purposes. Never post to it!2

I'm on there but thinking about deactivating my account too. It's all adverts and links to things I don't want to see now. Don't get to actually see much of what my friends are getting up to since facebook have altered the newsfeed2

No facebook but I do frequent another community like this for my other hobby.0

Never had a Facebook account, also no Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, Snapchat, Tumblr, Twitter, Viber, VK, WeChat, Weibo,or WhatsApp. Don't see the point. If I want to know what my friends are up to, I call.9

I do have facebook. I just do not use it. And then I forget about it totally. Ah, well. I could probably deactivate it, but keep it in case someone from long ago tries to find me for some reason.1

Never had one and don’t plan to. Too much drama.3

is facebook and social media the problem? or is it the people you accept friend requests from?
If they are ruining the experience, unfriend them, block them.
facebook is just like anything else isnt it? people can only ruin it if you let them.
play football with a bunch of jerks, you are going to have a bad time, so stop playing with them, find better people to play with.11 -

Me neither. I have never gotten into social media other than a few chat boards like this one, but even then I only post rarely on those.
I have no desire for a facebook account. My sister-in-law can't stand it, though - she has threatened to open one on my behalf, so if there is an account out there in my name, it wasn't me that opened it! Other folks have asked me why I don't have one, either. The SIL whined about it, saying 'how am I supposed to keep in touch with you?" to which I replied "you have my phone number and I do reply to email." lol3 -
Negativity gets unfollowed/unfriended.
Positivity is supported and gets liked.
It's about how you use the tool.3 -
facebook messaging my wife is easier and more effective than email or phone messaging We don't have smart phones attached to our hands. FB also gives me quick links to chess.com, which is where I'd rather waste my time.3

I have never had a Facebook account, or any other social media (other than MFP). I just do not believe in posting every mundane second of your life. I see people who are so glued to their devices and cannot go even one hour without checking the Facebook (and other media) to see what everyone is up to.
I feel sorry for those who are slaves to it, and believe everything they read/see, etc.
For the same reason, I never watch "reality" TV.2 -
Negativity? Shallowness? Drama? You keep bad company. All my friends are cool. Only drama going on is when one gets broken up with. Then I simply unfollow that person until they are over their issues and with someone else.1

I haven't completely deleted it but I haven't been on for a few weeks, I remember when facebook was fun now I feel like every day I'm being lectured by people on how to feel about a certain thing going on in society, everyone wants to be "right" everyone debating opinions and turning it into namecalling, I've never seen so much s&*T in my life. I'm still on Instagram, I don't see half of the SJW over there.2

Locked down and rarely ever post. Unfortunately, if I didn't have one I'd never know when anyone married, had a baby, or died. I ignore most of the mundane stuff they post about in between Drama and pushing MLMs will get you deleted.2

Oh god yes. I know way too much about Nerium, Plexus, Isotonix, ItWorks, Rodan & Fields, etc. and so forth, if it's not the MLM friends pushing their stuff, it's the creepy ads from facebook for things I looked up on amazon the day before.

Never had one and never will. I just don't see the point.3

I have to be on social media for my 2nd career. It's a great tool for promotion, but over the past year it has become something else entirely. Too negative. Too much fighting. Too many people thinking their opinion is the only opinion. Slowly I've been "hiding" people and unfriending them. My goal is to get to just family members. I like that I can keep in touch with my cousins who live in a different city.
Instagram is much better. I love following the body builders on Instagram. Plus you see only what you want to see.
ETA: On another note I think it's extremely important that a parent be on social media so they know what each app is about. I made all of my kids friend me. If they found a new social app, I downloaded and learned all I could about it. In this day and age, I feel its imperative to know what the new "in" thing is that your kids could get into.3 -
I'm a facebook hater too! Used to have it but then I realised how unhappy it was making me, always comparing my life to my friends' lives. That was in 2011. I hear these days that FB is more of an advertising forum that nobody uses for anything other than trolling or posting pictures of their kids/cats. Bore off!
I am a fan of instagram though, as there is waaaay less advertising - and I like to follow nutrition bods and gym ladies that inspire me to eat better and love myself instead of hating myself! I have been using it for a while and it has really stuck with me, encouraged me and given me some get-up-and-go when I didn't have anyone around me to do that.
I live quite far away from my friends and family so having some inspiration from virtual people is sometimes required, lol!!!!! xxxx0 -
I have Facebook, but deactivated a few years back, but then came back. Not sure why. People on Facebook mostly annoy me, probably because I know that some are trying to create the illusion of magical happiness but their 'real' lives aren't really that way. Not sure who they think they're fooling. Too many people also sell stuff and post about it 24/7. Also I don't care to see your kids artwork, your cuts and scabs, or read through all the drama you post. Also people who publicly announce that they're "cleaning out their friends list, post if you want to stay!" get deleted by me. Ha!4

I have Facebook and Instagram. All of my friends are actual friends and family, not random internet people. My friends and family are all spread out across the states and abroad, so we use FB and IG to share pictures of our kids and whatnot and just keep up to date with things we're doing.1
