Last round again reinforced to me how important it is to not stress out over temporary daily upward fluctuations. For this round I will continue working on my hydration and stretching.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/20--222.6 Normal fluctuation either due to the 2 handfuls of mini peppermint patties I had yesterday, even though I had already eaten my calories for the day, or water retention from finishing up another day of C25K that I completed in the rain last night. Either way, I'll take it.
10/21--222.2 Finished W2D3 of C25k and stretched. Going out for afternoon tea today. Working on staying hydrated today.
10/22--222.4 Very surprised about the small increase after all the food I ate at tea, maybe all the tea I drank helped. Going out for tennis lessons and then out for lunch with the in-laws, so weight will probably be up tomorrow.
10/23--222.8 If this is the only weight increase that shows up after the lunch and lack of water I had yesterday I will be very happy. I do have to say that I only ate 1/2 of my lunch and took the rest home to eat for dinner, so that also helped.
10/24--223.3 Water retention. Had a challenging weightlifting session yesterday.
10/25--222.4 There goes the water.
10/26--222.2
10/27--222.6 Finished W3D1 of C25K yesterday.

10/20 188.8 - but yesterday I got into the chocolate covered almonds. Thankfully, I counted them out, and stopped at 12. So weight this morning was taken after going to the gym, and drinking a bottle of water.
10/21 189.8 - but had pizza last nite.
10/22 - 190.0 --- ate WAY too much all weekend. Hoping to get this back in control again.
10/23 -- 190.0 -- Too much food again. Hoping to get back on track today, and see those 80s again.
10/24 -189.4
10/25 - 188.4
10/26 - 187.4!! YAH! only 10 pounds from my first goal. Tried to drink more water yesterday, so hoping that helped.
10/27 - 187.8 - can't seem to get past this number, but at least it is staying at the 187s. Had too much popcorn last nite though - so lots of food and salt

Day/Weight/Comment
10/20 175.4 the scale has kind of been stuck since about Oct. 3 so I'm trying to be patient.
10/21 175.0 still sitting here
10/22 177.4 ?
10/23 177.6
well, I'm confused. All I can think is that I'm holding a bunch of water for some reason. Expecting a good loss one day this week.
Plan for today: write it, then bite it! Stick with the plan and drink 64 oz water.
10/24 176.6 ugh
10/25 175.0 again. Glad to see it! hope tomorrow to get past it though! I was so hungry yesterday, I made hot tea in between meals and also some Golden Milk (turmeric, 2 oz almond milk, hot water, cinnamon) in the blender to keep me going.
10/26 174.6 Finally, a drop! I've been sticking pretty close to the plan.. hope it keeps rolling!
10/27 174.4 looks good to me! I had an extra carb serving yesterday (normally only have one) and a couple of drinks last night so I'm happy with todays weight. I will be drinking extra water today and sticking to the plan- had protein smoothie for breakfast, a bowl of tom kha gai soup with broccoli and an apple for lunch.. Salad, a veg and a protein for dinner tonight. Maybe a glass of wine.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/20 168.6 lb midday after workout. No real struggles yet today. Those will come later today when hanging out with friends. But I didn't eat the candy at work so there's a plus!
10/21 167.8 lb noonish after workout. Good but most of my weigh-ins will be after eating lunch, Which I haven't yet. So I'm expecting a rise come Monday. But I wasnt tempted by bad food last night. Just one drink of gin, which filled out my calories for the day yesterday. Going good!
10/22 169.8 lb night 7:30 - after workout that was the increase that I thought was going to happen. But I had fries last night for dinner as well so I expected a high number. Also and lunch and dinner. It also went up a pound after my workout so who knows.
10/23 168.2 lb night 7:15 - after workout. Interesting that it went down that much. We'll see if it balances it's self tomorrow. No temptations today, so it was quite easy to stay on track. I've been trying to break a plateau of about 168/169 for a week and a half now so I'm hopeful!
10/24 168.4 lb night 7:00 - after workout. Pretty good seeming as yesterday was a big drop. I ignored the candy at work today!
10/25 167.4 lb night 7:15 - after workout. That's a pretty good drop. Probably a little to much if it stays. All about healthy loss not fast loss. May need to recalculate calorie in for my new workout regimen. But my plateau might be breaking!!!!
10/26 166.4 lb night 7:00 - after workout. Another large drop. Again monitoring for calorie recalculation. I couldn't ignore the candy today. I had a mini box of nerds and ate it over a period of an hour to make it last so I wouldn't grab another piece.
10/27 165.2 lb midday 1:45 - after workout. Seeming as it's midday I see this loss as tolerable good to see it going down. Still watching for calories. Had another box of nerds today... Oh well...

Happy to be here for my 5th round. Thanks to all of you for being here, too. It helps so much to know we're not alone and to realize that all those "lost 2-5 pounds a week for umpteen weeks" ads are not the norm. More like verbal airbrushing! Half a pound lost per month is not just that much lost, but more than that not gained!
10/21 - 149.6
No surprise there. I did say I planned to lose the last 10-15 pounds slowly, right? ;-)
10/22 - 149.5
I thought I'd be down a bit more this morning. But whatever the scale says, I've lost an inch and a half from my waist since whenever it was I last measured (I have it written down somewhere) and I feel lighter, so all good. :-)
10/23 - 149.5
No surprise. I increased my calories yesterday to 1850 (from ~1700), and plan to stay between 1800-1900 for the next week to avoid slowing my metabolism. I'll be happy if my weight just stays level during that time. Then I'll cut back again for a month or so. But I'll keep checking in - keeps me aware.
10/24 - 149.5
Good, since I'm eating more for the coming week. I looked up my stats from my pre-metabolism reset dieting and found it took me 5 months to get from 150 to 143, my lowest in decades. So no surprise that these 10-15 pounds are slow going. A bit reassuring!
10/25 - 149.5
10/26 - 149.2
Goody! Must be the walking this week, and possibly the few extra calories, oddly enough. I'll take it!

10/20 - 192.0 Ugh. Not the start I wanted. Oh well, bouncy bounce.
10/21 - 192.9 I'm ok. It's a pattern. But ONCE, JUST ONCE I'd like to hit a "new all time low" and not jerk back up 2-3 pounds the next couple days. SO AGGRAVATING!
10/22 - 192.5 Vow for October 2017 - I will not buy anymore Halloween candy 'for the office." It really was for the office, and it is in the candy drawer, but I will eat things I put in the drawer, where I tend not to eat other's contributions. Plus I buy things I like, almond joy, kit kat, peanut butter cups, milky way. Maybe next year I will buy skittles and jelly beans as they are not my thing.
10/23 - unknown family crisis next few days
10/24 - 191.6
10/25 - 192.0
10/26 - 190.9 The last few days have been really rough, but I think things are normalizing. Got a nice run in last night. Really helped clear the brain fog from too little sleep. Sounds counter-intuitive, how exercising harder temporarily energizes you and helps clear your mind.
10/27 - 191.1 Ran again, but just a quarter mile or so. Walked the rest of the two miles. Still working on sleep and getting the meals planned again. But everyone is alive and talking to everyone else so we got that going for us.

First timer here! New to myfitness as well. I have been on a weight roller coaster this year, and hate the way I look now. 10 years ago I was 169lbs, hated it, got energized, found a plan that worked and stuck to it (mostly). I was able to get my weight down to 135lbs (give or take a couple of pounds). This year has been tough with lots of family and work stress. No motivation, then I do, then I don't. My current weight is 157 lbs. My goal is to get back to where I was happy and to fit those clothes again. I will settle for 140lbs.
Current: 157 lb
Day/Weight/Comment
10/20 157.4
10/21 155.4 another kickboxing class today and 30 min treadmill last night
10/22 157.2 - weekends are hard to maintain. Last night went out to the Keg with friends for dinner. Only ate half of my dinner, but then there was beer and wine involved. Bad BAD BAD!!!
10/23 158.4 - going the wrong way. Yesterday no excercise and needed "comfort food".
10/24 156.8 - Ok, back on track. Just need more energy to excercise.
10/25 155.6
10/26 154.5
10/27 153.6 - Wow, I am impressed with myself. This really helps stay motivated, so thank you! Eating healthier and walking more. The next 2 days are going to be the biggest challenge. I have a LOT of problem with staying on track on weekends. Suggestions?

10/294 -
Back again! I started midway through Round 2 at 153.9 on 4/29. For this round I'd like to get below and stay below 140. Started at 162 something back in early March so I'm down over 20 pounds. I am aiming to reach goal of 132 before New Years.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/19 141.4
10/20 140.8 down slightly.goals for today: gym and walk or ellip. and water, water, water.
10/21 140.4 Off to camping. Have a lovely weekend.
10/22 quite a lot of cross country hiking. Camping.
10/23 139.8 Thank you, Universe! I believe in my ability to lose weight and keep it off.
10/24 140.8 no problem... no exercise yesterday, tired from weekend's hiking. Today, gym, protein and water.
10/25 140.6 Happy with this weight as I had cornbread and homemade navy bean soup = lots of carbs and sodium. Went to gym. Today: elliptical. greens with protein and water, water, water.
10/26 142.4 Well, hell. Salt from dirty martinis once again. Needed to get out so i accept the consequences. Hopefully it will come off before end of this round which is going by realllly fast.
10/27 142 Need a low carb day to get back down. It is taking me forever to get in the 130's. One day there doesn't count. Definitely not enough exercise this week which doesn't help my goal and lunch out tomorrow. Aw well, I'll do better next round.
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS to me? My maintenance, per different sites should be around 1750 Cals at my current weight. I am staying around 1200 and not eating back exercise cals. MFP tells me, at the comment it makes when you finish logging for the day, that at 1200 cals I would stay the same, not lose. It makes no sense to me.

Have you thought of taking a diet break? It's something that probably everyone should do, but especially with you eating at such a large deficit for an extended period of time and the fact that you are so close to your goal weight, a break may help. Here is a link to a forum discussion that is really helpful: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10610288/increase-calories-one-day-per-week/p14 -

10/22: 155.0 I have a feeling steak and seafood dinner tonight is not going to move the scale downward tomorrow!
10/23: 155.6 Help! I got attacked by a restaurant sodium bomb!! Pretty pleased with my choices, though. Had shrimp and grilled asparagus instead of prime rib and mashed potatoes, a sliver of steak, and three glasses of water to my one glass of wine. Split a 1,600 calorie cheesecake four ways. About 350 cal over goal. Not too shabby.
10/24: 156.2 This too shall pass. Had wayyyy too many carbs yesterday, so not unexpected. Must admit I'm a little disappointed to see 156s again. :whine:
10/25: 156.6 Oh no.
10/26: 156.8 Did not want to post today. However, I have to own this and my crap choices this week. Every year around this time for the last five years I have quit logging and started gaining. I seem to get a glimpse of the 154s then give up soon after. Do I want to be a victim or be victorious? Tomorrow is a new day with new opportunities to make good decisions. I hope I choose victory.
10/27: 155.0 Today I choose to focus on these facts: 1) I am down 12.6 pounds since starting this group. 2) Down 16 pounds in three months. 3) I eat muuuch more healthy than I did 90 days ago. Winning!

I have that same pattern but with a two as the first digit rather than a one. Let's pinkie swear to each other that this time will be different! I think it will for me. I'm thinking differently this time. We can do this! It is totally up to us! Do continue the challenge so we can be here for you as you decide!

Need more water today, stayed up too late last night. Good on calories, veggies, OK on protein. Got a little exercise. No added sugar. I'm on a whoosh, I think interval running is giving me a larger calorie deficit than I'm accounting for. We'll see if it keeps up.
10/21: 167.0
Spoke too soon! This bump doesn't bother me, I am still 2 lbs down for the last week. Today was good, I found an excuse to get outside and walk during my work day, then went for a short run this evening. Good on water, calories, etc. No sugar today. I even turned down pizza.
10/22: 167.5
Hm, still went up and I was practically perfect Friday and Saturday. Imma be way up tomorrow, I went out to dinner and had all the butter in the world, went over my calories for the first time in ages, like halfway into tomorrow's calories. No dessert or cocktail, at least. Didn't have sugar today but I found a roll of breath mints (with sorbitol) in my desk and ate several, I always munched stuff like that like candy so I stopped buying them.
10/23: 168.5 Yeah.
For what it's worth, today was mostly on track. Though if yesterday was "B" for butter, today might have been "C" for cheese. Under calories, though. No sugar.
10/24: 169.0
Honestly, I almost skipped this thread today because this is discouraging. But, I know I didn't eat 7,000 extra calories in the last few days, I have to just keep going. Ate very light today, lots of water. No added sugar.
10/25: 167.5
Okay, a bit better. I drank 4L/1gal of water yesterday to rid my body of evil spirits and it helped. Today I did terrible with water, forgot my bottle at home and didn't drink any fluids from 9a-6p. Fine on calories, no added sugar, got some exercise tonight after dinner.
10/26: 168.5
Good on calories, protein, water, exercise today.
10/27: 167.5
Event at work today, didn't eat or drink quite enough for the day. I ate some pizza though, not sure what the scale will look like tomorrow.

10/21 132.5 - not what I expected... DD came home from college yesterday, so made a nice lasagna dinner with apple cake for dessert... and I ate over my calorie count. Probably won’t hold, but that’s why I’m doing this
10/22 132.5 - I’m finding this group activity motivating! Knowing I was going to report my weight today kept the late night munching away
10/23 134 - what the...? probably the yummy pho I ate for lunch had high sodium - I stayed close on my calorie goal and even did some running.
10/24 134 - hmmm
10/25 133 - finally! Sticking with the program is paying off!
10/26 133
10/27 132.5 - Woohoo!8
