Hellooooo. I have no idea if anyone will actually read this, but does this app help anyone stay accountable? My biggest flaw is that I will keep up with my diet for about two weeks, then fall out of it. It usually takes me about a week to pick it back up but strict dieting is something I plan on being a part of. Exercise is no problem, I stay quite athletic but I need to lose about 30 lbs. Thank y'all for reading!

I think it does but you also have to make sure you log all your food. This app is very motivating so you should not have a problem sticking to it. You can add me as a friend if you would like.

Hi, I'm new too. So far the app has helped me to realize my eating habit flaws and help me stay aware of things I want to avoid. I joined (hopefully get accepted) a November redemption challenge to clean eat for the whole month of November.

It definitely helped me! I suggest instead of strict dieting that you start by logging everything you eat normally for a week, then look at your diary to get an idea of your eating habits. Then make the changes you need to stay at a small calorie deficit. With only 30 lbs to lose, you should be aiming for a weight loss of no more than a pound a week. Don't be impatient, you will have to eat right for the rest of your life if you don't want to regain the weight by doing what caused you to gain it in the first place. Trying to diet too strictly is the most common cause of failure.

The great thing about tracking is that it allows you to relax, knowing exactly how much you can eat, instead of worrying all the time. You can eat anything you want as long as it fits your calories.

Welcome! The app is great, the MFP community is priceless  Stay active here and you'll get all the support you need to achieve your goals. For me, I tried and failed many times before finally hitting my stride. It's ok to stumble, the only people who fail are those that don't try again the next day.

Hey, I am new too. I have been tracking for a month. I think the idea given of first tracking your normal eating is insightful. I am just starting to read the community posts. It truly does make me feel -not alone. I too can last about 2 weeks then I give up for a day or two then back at it. I lasted almost the whole month of October. I have 30 pounds to lose too. I hope you feel supported. P

I am going to give it a try. Logging food is fun, honestly. I like seeing my nutrition on paper. I'll go ahead and do that!

I do feel supported! Good luck with your battle with food. 30 lbs is no easy feat, but it is not hard either. I used to weigh 290 lbs and then I got to 200 now back up to 220. Its not as bad as you'd think.

I'm hoping to stay truthful to this app, it seems much easier to use than my old one, which I can't even remember the name of haha. That is very true, and I'm a fighter for sure so hopefully this new Keto diet will work out.
