Hey hey hey.

I'm trying to gain some weigth and become fit at the same time. Just quit smoking and I'm exercising almost everyday, and keeping track of what I eat.

I'n open to tips and hints on how to achieve my goals. And meet people that share them with me as well :)

Cheers everyone!

To build muscle, you need to eat slightly over your maintenance calories (250-350 kc add'l, maybe), lift heavy things often, rest periodically, and eat adequate protein.

I suggest you read New Rules of Lifting - http://www.thenewrulesoflifting.com/

Also, this site is very helpful in learning about your muscles and how to build them - http://www.exrx.net/index.html

Yup, 8-10 reps of near max weight for size, 12 -15 reps less weight for tone (according to Tony Horton of P90X fame)
  • Thanks guys. I'm currently doing 3 sets of 10 reps for all major muscles.

How do I know my max weight?!
