Gaining instead of losing

Options
Hi all,
Please explain why I am gaining weight working out instead of losing.
I work out with weights 4 days a week. I also treadmill for 30 minutes each of those days.
I eat at a calorie deficit and I do not eat back any exercise calories.
I am 53 and in good shape for my age. My clothes fit better because I am tighter but not any lighter in lbs.
Any thoughts???

Are you weighing your solids and measuring your liquids? Usually the first culprit is incorrect logging.

How long has this gain been going on for? How long have you been lifting?

How many pounds have you gained? Over what period of time? You started lifting how long ago and were you losing prior to integrating the lifting/cardio in your regime?

If your clothes are fitting better and you look better why worry about a few pounds gained?

Probably not. Unless she's taking steroids, eating at a surplus and doing some serious weight training.

    Well it's possible.

Even under the most optimal situation females can gain about half a pound of muscle a month

Everyone had really good questions but OP you didn't answer any.

    What is your starting weight?
How much weight have you gained and over what period?
What is your TDEE and how many calories are you eating?
Are you using a food scale?
Can you open your journal so we can look?
