    Take some time off but then try to figure out why it keeps hurting. It could be overuse or it could be a number of other things. How old are your shoes (are even the correct shoes for your gait)? Do you have muscle imbalance/weakness? Maybe you changed your stride.

    Good luck. Hopefully it doesn't take another month.

    I will buy new shoes and rest it and see if it helps. The shoes I wear are a year old. Thankyou for the advice. I'm not sure what I did to it. I woke up one day after walking a mile the day before and it hurt to go up and down stairs, it was sore in the back and inner part of knee and swollen. The more I walk on it the more it swells.
