This thread is one in which a new fitness and dietary challenge is posted each week. The challenges begin on Monday. Lets keep this rolling!

Here are the challenges/format to post for this week: (ANY one can join in at ANY time!)

FITNESS CHALLENGE:
Complete 35 minutes of jump rope this week. That’s an average of 5 minutes a day (does not have to be consecutive). If you don't have a jump rope then you can just go through the motion.

DIETARY CHALLENGE:
Eat within 100 calories of your allowed daily calories (can be up or down).

    Beautiful! Thanks for the extra motivation. I've been meaning to get a jump rope and it's high time for me to do it! Do you know if adult ones are available at target?
  • bmfrazie, I'm in! This thread was just what I've needed. One week into my South Beach Diet, and did virtually no excercise last week. Was just thinking how I need something to motivate me. You'll hear from me again here. Thanks!!

    DanceYogaRun, I'm sure they are. I got mine at KMart, and I'd assume Target would as well, as they are pretty comparable. At KMart, the adult jump-ropes were in the Sports/Athletics section.

    Thank you! This sounds like exactly what I need right now. Cardio and staying in my daily goal range, I've been lacking in both lately.

    I started too late in my day today to get any jumping done, but I'm making up for it tomorrow with Coach Nicole's 10 minute Jump Rope video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY0lZTWlBAg

    I was 63 calories under today, so right on track at least!

    This will be an awesome challenge for me. I loved to jump rope as a child and still do as an adult. My challenge will be eating +/- 100 calories. I have a hard enough time eating all of my calories to start with!

    Jumping rope is really hard. Can't do 5 min. had to do only 2 min. at a time. Not sure I will make it through the week, my foot is already acting up. I will do what I can.

    Jump roping just doesn't seem to fit in my things to do.... Hmmm.. but I've mostly stayed within my calories
