    @TEQWAR Beautiful song..

Sweet Sweet Lies did some great songs, their one and only album is a perennial favourite in my playlist. I'm hoping that Dominic - the lead singer - is off doing other (non-musical) stuff now, but I'm hoping he finds his way back to it. I bother him about it every chance I get.

Yup. Been friends now going on 10 years. He's based in London now but was in Brighton when Sweet Sweet Lies were going.
Music really is what drives me - wish I had some talent that way myself but the best I can muster is a bit of performance poetry - and I spend a huge amount of time driving all over the place for a new musical fix. I help out a few bands with the load-out and work as doorman for gigs and festivals on occasion. It helps make up for the unremitting tedium of I.T. work.

    Time

Can you spare me a glance?
    A look, a moment?
    Or are you too busy
Wrapped up in your own life
    To explain what went wrong?

    Do you have the time?
I said, "Do you have the time?
    In this place, your space
Do you have the time? - DO YOU HAVE THE *kitten* TIME?"

    You open your mouth
And I see your lips moving
    The words come pouring out
    Scathing in your diatribe
    Humiliating in your scorn

    You didn't have the time
You said, "I don't have the time
This isn't the place, can't you see I need my space
I can't spare you any time" - YOU CAN'T SPARE ME ANY *kitten* TIME?!

    I open my mouth
    But nothing comes out
All turns to ruin before me
The taste of ashes in my mouth
Chokes the words before they're said

    I didn't have the time
    I said, "I don't have the time"
Trapped in my own space, wishing I was in some other place
    I didn't have the time - I DIDN'T HAVE THE *kitten* TIME!

    We opened our mouths
    But the words died unsaid
With both of us to blame
    For what happened
    And so we walked away

    We couldn't find the time
We said "We haven't got the time"
Now in this place, I've too much space
Because we couldn't find the time - WE DIDN'T MAKE THE *kitten* TIME!
    And now it's over.
