    First of all - Congratulations!

    And:

Really? Its not a good idea to worry about losing weight AFTER becoming pregnant. Might have been something to think about before you got pregnant though. Please talk to your doc and ask how many calories you should be eating a day.

Walk. Walking is a great way to exercise, and that mixed with a healthy (calorie rich) diet will put you in a good place for your pregnancy. When baby comes out, then you can worry about losing the weight and cutting calories.

Talk to your dr before you do anything.

See your doctor first.. If you regularly work out anyways you probably can still work out some at first. BUT check with them first and see what is okay.. IF you cannot work out at all or very little like just light walking, just simply eat better and healthier. Check with your Dr, and see how many calories you need at every stage of pregnancy and just stay within those limits.. for the first couple of months or so you dont need extra caloires. So still track your caloire intake figure out how many calories you need from the Dr... If you get hungry make sure you still eat something just make it healthy. If you feel hungry you probably need something.

And make sure you get your vitamins.

After you have the baby you just keep up the good work of counting calories then you start to work out :-)

    Good luck!! and congrats!!!!!!:flowerforyou:

I just found out that I am newly pregnant and I want to lose weight badly, so I am ready for what is to come.
I am going to start walking and maybe go on the eliptical, but I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas as I have to keep my heart rate down.

    :)

Please tell me you are not serious in asking this question. I know weight loss is something all of us are working hard at and we need suggestions and support for others but really????? REALLY????

Holly *kitten*... is that series of pics really you? You look AMAZING!`

Yes ma'am and thank you! I weighed 199lbs when I gave birth to EACH or my kids! Twice in my life I was that big!

Talk to the doc/midwife - if you are in the uk then there are specialist midwives who will support you with your weight during your pregnancy. Although it's not advisable to lose weight whilst you are pregnant if you start of at a normal weight - if you are overweight then some doctors will advise you to maintain for as long as you can and only really gain a little weight in third trimester

    Happy and healthy 9 months

I am currently pregnant with my second child the first time around I started out at 260, gave birth at 306 and by the time my daughter was 4 months old I was down to 230. This time I started out using mfp at 268 and got down to 229 before found out I was pregnant a second time! Lol last time I had only gained 11 pounds until the last month where I ballooned with water weight and was miserable. Just have a close relationship with your ob and they will guide you through everything. My ob also happens to be certified in nutrition and family medicine so I lucked out that she has been everything for me. A great doctor will make all the difference and taking the time to foster a relationship with then is worth your time too. This is someone that will be in your life for the next 6 months or more! Depending on how soon you get into one after you conceive.

I find this very disconcerning... Why would you wan to loose weight while being preggo? Wouldn't that be taking away the baby's food? I understand wanting to be fit, eat good for the baby, etc... but this is absolutely naieve thinking.

Think about the little life inside of you.
