Didn't you just start this thread somewhere else?
I've done WW and changed to MFP because their plan devolved into this nonsensical judgy punitive plan which did not show me results. On MFP, however, I pretty much do your third option (being 80%ish of whole food, 20% whatever I like), because "clean eating" is meaningless for weight loss unless you're in a calorie deficit.6 -
Yes, wasnt getting any responses.4

You posted literally 15 minutes before this one.7

Are you mad?8
-
Not mad, just notice you pop up every so often asking these very similar questions - have you actually committed to one of the options in the meantime and seen if you get results?8
-
I mean...your asking people on MFP what they chose.....seriously?
Pretty much everyone here has discovered CICO. This is literally a calorie counting site14 -

Probably because the question doesn't make sense. Someone can quite easily do low carb while counting calories and eating 80/20. It's not an either/or proposition
I chose counting calories because calories are how everyone loses/gains weight, whether they are counting them or not. I feel better eating moderate carbs, clean eating doesn't affect weight and is honestly just a marketing buzz word with no standard meaning, and it never occurred to me to try WW, no idea why.
And since this is the mfp forum, it stands to reason at least most people who will see your question chose mfp, right?19 -
Well whatever you want to call it if you want to lose weight it is all about the calories. You can eat low carb or whatever you define clean as but if you're not in a calorie deficit you won't lose weight. WW is just another more restrictive complicated way of being in a calorie deficit (if you follow it as intended).4

I'd like an approach that would make losing weight and increasing health EASIEST for me. For me that's limiting heavily refined highly palatable foods. What will work for you?0

MFP - that's why I'm here. Been successfully maintaining using MFP for several years now.3

Counting Calories/MFP obviously. That's why you see me here.2 -
The fact Im here reading your post suggests I chose calorie counting/MFP lol
Iv tried all sorts of "diets" over the last 10 years and counting/tracking on MFP is the only thing thats worked1 -
Calorie counting is the only real way that works. Diets are all pointless.0

Weight Watchers old point system was once very reliable because a point represented a caloric ratio, but now a point is a YMMV good/ bad judgement system. And that system keeps changing (coming soon!). Calorie counting works as long as you don't fudge it.2

Counting calories for me. I am trying to increase my protein intake so that naturally lowers my carbs but not specifically avoiding them. As long as I get around 100g of protein, the carbs and fats can fall wherever they will for the day (although the split usually ends up pretty even between all three)0

MFP , moderate carb, eating food I like
The tools here are easy to use. I liked the community.
Calorie counting helps me manage my weight while eating like a normal person.
All weight loss is caused by having a calorie deficit. The rest is preference.
Pick a way of eating you can sustain that is the appropriate amount of calories.1
