I don't track water, but since all liquids (except for alcohol) meet your need for hydration, I would count Crystal Light.3

Crystal light counts.
However, a gallon is excessive. 8 glasses is fine and you probably don't even need that.
Watch this clip (it's funny and informative): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWASUMMQjj83 -
The water in Crystal Light is still water. Water in coffee is water. Water in soda is water.5

I don't track it unless it has calories. As for counting towards a water goal, sure.0

What else would it be? When you add flavor to water it doesn't stop being water.5

On the other hand, some of us need a water goal because we mistake thirst for hunger. I don't know how many times I've found myself in the kitchen eating a snack when I actually needed water.
If I added Crystal Light to water, which I don't, I'd count it. I count coffee.1 -
If I put Crystal Lite in vodka would I still get in trouble for drinking at work?11

You have just opened up a whole new world to me.2 -
I count things such as tea and sparkling water as part of my water log for the day so I would also count crystal light in the water log as well!0

I rarely drink anything besides plain water, but some people don't like water and struggle with that.
Yes, I would count the water u used to make the crystal light.0 -

^^^THIS^^^^^
Soda counts
Crystal light counts
Seltzer counts
vodka doesn't count
Beer doesn't count
Also, Crystal light as a water flavor is really overpowering, I usually use 2-3x the amount of water recommended.

A gallon isn't always excessive, just like 8 glasses may not be enough for some people. I'm an extremely thirsty person who sweats a LOT. Without trying to drink more water, I measured how much I drink in a day and it's often over a gallon (if I work out that day) of just water before even adding in coffee and tea. Everyone is different.1 -

It's my go-to drink. Currently my favorite is cherry vodka with lemonade crystal light, although it does get too sweet for me pretty quickly.

For hydration purposes, your fluid intake doesn't specifically have to be water. Fluid from other sources counts, such as fruits/fruit juices, soups, milk, etc.
And just because you modify it to be more palatable, doesn't make it less hydrating ( such as a water additive ).
You should count it ( if you track it ) ... I do.
As far as whether a gallon a day is an issue, it would take significantly more intake, or an existing condition, to put him in danger of hyperhydration. Normally functioning kidneys can process 3 pints to 1 quart per hour. My personal intake is 4-6 quarts a day of fluids, on average.3 -

IKR.
It is a little weird that I really only like water. My family drank soda and I was never told any foods were off limits growing up. I also don't specifically try to "eat clean" so it really doesn't make sense.
I've never liked the taste of dark soda, even though I've tried to like it since everyone says it's weird that I don't like it.
Things like Mountain Dew and seven up/sprite/sierra mist are ok if I'm at a restaurant that doesn't have good water but I feel like they defeat the purpose of drinking liquids bc they only make me thirstier.
I do like the taste of lemonade and sweet tea (I am a southerner so I feel like unsweet tea is wrong on many levels) but they make me feel bloated so I'd still rather have water.

this is what I do when I drink Crystal light, I split one packet between 2 liters of water and a little bit of lemon juice. I also count the iced green tea I drink while at work and pre-workout.0 -
In the past I had caused an electrolyte imbalance by drinking only water and exercising a lot. Add some low calorie gatorade to avoid that, 8 glasses-64oz is a good goal to have.0
-
I drink unsweetened decaf tea . My doc said drink water I said I do with a tea bag in it...he said that's fine. Lol3
-
I have to keep track of my fluids, so if it's a liquid, then it counts for me.0

UH!! NO! It will go in a Mason Jar.
If I'm feeling classy, it may be a mason jar with a handle.2
