Foodies from New Orleans

So I did a search of the countries top food cities (as if I didn’t know) and New Orleans was on the top of EVERY list. No wonder I am so overweight. I wanted to create this forum in hopes of connecting and supporting other New Orleanians that know my struggle. Not only does this place have the best food in the country it also has parties and festivals every single day of the year all of which involve tons of food. I can’t think of a single get together that I have ever been to in this city that didn’t involve food. It surrounds us everyday all day! I am 37 years old and I am on a mission to retrain my brain on how to eat.

Food is good. Most areas have good food. Everybody loves food. You don't have to be overweight. You just have to not overeat.3

Totally agree with you, thats why I have to relearn some of my eating habits. Since I have learned to cut the fats and heavy seasoning I am actually starting to enjoy just the real taste of foods.0

I have actually increased my fat intake deliberately, but cut down on general amounts, and I'm eating more regularly, and a wider variety of "real" food (less "junk" food).0
