Have you seen that episode of Family Guy where Peter had a segment on the news where he talked about things that "grinds his gears"? I was thinking about that today and all sorts of foolishness came to mind. Like the person who sat at the bus stop for 20 minutes and when the bus finally came, they stood there digging in their purse/wallet for the bus fare, holding up the line. What the heck were you doing for those 20 minutes??? Or what about the person in front of you in the grocey store? They have a gazillion things in their basket, but not enough money, and they want the cashier to start pulling things out of the bags to put back....but they can't decide what they want to put back!!

So tell me.....What grinds your gears??

people on this site that ask for your opinion about something and then when they don't like your opinion they run and tell the moderators that your posts are offensive.

If they don't want everyone's opinion they should not ask.

the salad bar lady at my work's cafeteria. Don't get me wrong, I think you should always take your job seriously, but she goes a little too far. The cafeteria's greasy grill line stays open all day, but the salad bar will only be out a couple of hours 2 times a day. Well it opens a 5:00pm and this woman will have all the lettuce and toppings and everything put out and it looks great...so you get down there at 4:55...NOPE not getting any....4:57...NOPE still not getting any...4:59...NOPE!

She will not put the dang tongs out so that you can get your salad until 5:00:00 and NO SOONER.

I work in a hospital, so there are times that your lucky to get your break and sometimes mine just doesn't fall at 5:00:00 and it really gets to me that she won't put them out any sooner.

WOW, I didn't realize how angry that made me!! hahahaha

HA...if you were really sorry you wouldn't have said anything. Those jeans are probably really comfy and if they look good in them why not. I would like to try some myself before or after losing weight.

Grinding my Gears: SPAM...Viagra ones too.

    Speaking of salad...

What grinds my gears is when a restaurant tries to charge me $4 for a salad dumped straight out of a $2 bag

    and

What grinds my gears is that subway is charging an extra $1+ for a thin spread of avocado

COME ON! on the commercials its thick and green and delicious looking

What grinds my gears is people that glare at mothers/fathers/siblings/whatever of a screaming infant. It's not their fault the baby is crying, it's not the babies fault the baby is crying.

What grinds my gears is really, really old people that turn out in front of you so abruptly that you have to whomp your breaks and make an emergency lane change to keep from hitting them.

What REALLY grinds my gears is people that are so insecure about themselves and what they know that they feel the need to call someone else out and make them second guess what they're talking about, when they and everyone else knows d*mn well that person knew what they were talking about.

Its their fault if they brought the baby to a place which isn't supposed to be a day care
ie. the movies. you know good and well your kid isn't going to sit still and be quiet during a 2+ hour movie. Just being obnoxiously inconsiderate

i have a "few" things that grind my gears:

    1. when you are in line at a store for the self checkouts, you know "NORMAL" people make a single filed line so everyone can go in the turn they get there, and then you have the people who think they are all better than you and just go up and stand behind one of the busy registers, even though they can see perfectly fine there is a line already WAITING! ~ but do love when karma stalls the line they are waiting for!

    2. NEGATIVE NELLYS! you know those people, when you are posting your goals and what not on here, and they are like "yeah right like that is possible"..........i'm sorry we are on a FITNESS site, we are supposed to be here to get healthy and support each other, not make them feel like this is impossible.

    3. family that all they want to do is cause problems.

and YES all three of those i have dealt with in the last month! GOT TO LOVE IT!

I'm talking about grocery stores, gas stations, walmarts/targets/shopkos, airplanes when the distance is not drivable. Ect.

Edit: Or student centers during evening hours in community colleges. The library is meant for quiet study, the student center is meant for the chatty people (or, at my old college anyway.) There was a teenage older sister trying to sooth a fussy 2-week old newborn sibling. This old guy kept glaring at her and I kept glaring at him. We had a glare-off and he refused to utilize the library (if you SNEEZE in there they look at you cross). Then I went and cooed over the baby because honesty that is one of the most beautiful sounds to me.

I'm glad you didnt say right after that..."sorry I said that". Just say what you believe in and stand by it.

What Grinds my Gears is when people start off by saying "Not to offend anyone, or Sorry I said that" Yes you might offend and some people may disagree but thats why we are all so unique. If we all agreed we would be so boring.

sounds like a discipline problem to me lol

    jk

    kinda

other people shouldn't be subject to your kid's tantrums no matter where you are

but I will concede the point if it is a YOUNG baby who can't control his/herself yet

Eh. I don't ever feel guilty about my opinion. I only worry about hurting the feelings of someone close to me- and I know what not to say around them so it's usually not a problem.

Also, it irks me that ever THIRD commercial on TV is about food.
No wonder theres an obesity epidemic in this country.

Oh naturally. I'm not talking about the two-four year olds that you can swat and embarrass them into behaving. Thats why theres a bum in my opinion. It's the newbies (or autistic/behaviorally challenged children [this doesn't include ADD/ADHD which is tossed around like it's a gender now]) that don't bother me.
