Hi there!
I have been eating mostly vegan, although sometimes I get a little wild and just do vegetarian:). I’ve been eating this way for about six months and love it. At first it was awesome I lost weight and felt great . Then ....I got to be a lazy vegeataian/vegan. French fries. Oreos. Bean dip. Ohh so many ways to be an unhealthy vegetarian.
So now I’m a chubby vegan. Super. Looking to start again tomorrow. I have no idea how much weight I’ve gained. If you hear some screaming and crying from the Pacific Northwest, will be me getting on the scale tomorrow morning. Add me if you’d like!!5 -
I am newly vegan - since July 2nd of this year. I am VERY happy I made the switch. My S.O. is a meat eater too. I did it for my own health and because I love all the animals! I am 38, living in Oregon (U.S.). SW: 230, CW: 213, GW: 150. I lost 83 lbs in 2014, but gained it all back So I am looking for more support and friends this time I am just focusing on my eating habits for now, I will (hopefully) add exercise (or at least walking) in when I get closer to my goal weight (and it warms up a bit here). If you have not already, watch What the Health and Forks Over Knives on Netflix. They are what finally pushed me over the edge to become a vegan.6

Hiya, So happy to hear from others.....WFPB for 2 1/2 years and ALWAY looking for like minded eaters. ❤️1

Ovo-lacto vegetarian. I cook a lot of vegan dishes. Married to a meat-eater (and I cook for him too). Happy to share recipes, etc.1

I eat a plant based diet, have been for about 5 months. One of the reasons I changed my eating was because I've never liked most animal products, most of them always disgusted me but I forced myself to eat it because I was convinced I needed it and all the protein. Once I realized that wasn't true, I started eating mostly vegan. But I just say I eat plant based because I definitely don't have rules for myself.
Other motivators for me are the environment and my love for animals, the idea of eating them disturbs me. My boyfriend is a meat eater as well, I am just happy he is willing to try my homemade vegan dishes, which he usually likes!
ETA: Feel free to add me!3 -

I am 53 years old, from the Midwest and I am newly vegetarian (one month in) and have chosen this lifestyle to help reduce my risk of Alzheimer’s Disease. I am caring for my mother who has AD, and my father is also in poor health from cardiovascular disease. My parents recently told me “Getting Old is inevitable “.... true, but getting old and being unhealthy is optional! So, I begin my venture to make better lifestyle choices than my parents. I have plenty of people in my life who love me, but very few who have been good role models for how to live a healthy life. That is why I am turning to MFP community for support and guidance to make better choices for myself. Feel free to add me and/or direct me to good WFPB or Vegetarian support online. Thanks for your support!!5

Question? What’s your strategy for tomorrow and the rest of the Holiday eating season?
You are not alone in this journey. We ARE your support system. Please tell us what’s on you mind.0 -
I’ll go first....My husband and I are taking a short road trip for the entire weekend. We’ll be hiking on the bluffs of the Mississippi River and relaxing in a beautiful hotel. Sounds nice? Yeah and he’s asked me NOT to make eating and food the focus of our weekend. My challenge will be to order creatively in the local restaurants and may need to skip or modify meals. Wish me luck and let me know how your doing this weekend. ❤️0

I’m going vegan just so I can proudly wear a shirt that says, “I’ve got 99 problems but protein ain’t one!”
But seriously: due to allergies, it’s been hard to eat vegan, but I eat plant-based as much as possible.2 -
omg love the sound of that Tee0

I’ve been vegan for just over a year now with my 1yo daughter my SO and my sons are omnivores. I was long term vegetarian before. Since being vegan I’ve found it hard to track my food though and recently my weight has started to creep up so need motivation from other vegans to track
