I think it is fair to say all of us will have bad days sometime. This is a life change that we and our families have to adjust to. Watching sodium is important because it makes you retain water. Even last week I was drinking diet pepsi and found I was retaining water so I stopped. I looked at my total sodium and fell over!
I want to be sure that the crunches I do in the pool count for the 50 we have to do. I figure if I do extra they should count, right?0 -
Forgot, my name is Tara.0
-
Awesome. Thanks, Tara.
The way I look at it...crunches are crunches, right? Speaking of that...how do you do crunches in the pool?0 -
Monday results:
calories- will be under. just need to go make my salad but plenty left to make it and im not even really hungry today,,it seems to go in spurts for me. yesterday i couldnt get enough
crunchs - did 100. I did them on the floor last time but my back ached ater. i have an "ab coaster" machine that basically does the same without back pain for me. i think it's a little easier (dh does not agree-he thinks harder) so i did more to make the difference up. btw crunchs can also be done standing. hold weights level near your shoulders fairly close in....and raise your knees one at a time to meet them. That method is in my cardio max cd and boy do you feel you abs that way...killer really,..but no back pain.
@Tara - just mho but heck yeah they count in the water!!!. The water is great for providing extra resistance not keeping it easy. what it does it reduce the stress to the joints etc. that can cause pain. Pain is different than muscle ache and doesn't do a dang thing for you at best. at worst, real injury.
@bmccrory- yep we will all have bad days, life just happens. glad to see you back and doing well. go girl!
@misty - thanks. no save today.....i'm plum tuckered out. did the crunchs and some jumping jacks for another group and plan on lazily settling for tv tonight. love masterchef and hope it's on. funny...its the weeding that killed me not the exercise. based on above, have a feeling that you & stephanie will post some numbers though. go ladies!!0 -

Hey ladies,
My name is Beverly. And I am under calories but I haven't done the crunches. I want to try them standing up or I would LOVE to know how to do them in the pool. I did swim laps (10 minutes) and treading water for 8 minutes and walked for 15 minutes.
I thought I had my diary open to my friends.
Have a good night..0 -
I did water aerobics for 90 minutes, 200 crunches, and under calories for the day. As far as the crunches in the pool go, you hold yourself at an angle in the poll and bring your knees up to your chest holding in your stomach. You don't want to float and you don't want to have your legs down either. It is interesting and gets the heart pumpin! We do elliptical in the pool, laps, frogs, arms, legs, wall climps, toe lifts and more. We have a routine down and we go nonstop for the 90 minutes. All I can tell you is it works out the whole body and you feel it as soon as you get out of the pool!0

This has helped me tremendously get in a routine and it holds me accountable. I love having to log my food for everyone to see. It makes me think before I cheat!! Thanks for the support!!0

I'm here girls. I'm not contributing much, but I am here. I am going to get out there today and get a couple miles in and swim some to help out our cause. Sorry for slacking.
I just realized that I never properly introduced myself. My name is Misty and I am a SAHM to 2 boys...10 and 5. My husband is a musician...he does anything to do with guitars. He plays, teaches and builds them. My 5 year old has been diagnosed with autism since he was 2 year old. We have 2 to 3 hours of therapy each week...hence my need to stay home. He has made amazing strides due to this therapy, so I am more than happy to do it! He's starting kindergarten this year and is actually academically ahead of other children his age. He's also a big boy...at 5 years old, he weighs almost 80lbs. But he's tall too. Due to this and the tantrums that come with the autism, I had to do something. I was weighing in at 240...I'm an emotional eater. I was really having trouble. I decided to start going to the gym to get stronger. Didn't really think about losing weight...I also have PCOS, so it's hard for me to do. But then a friend of mine who is almost as big as me decided to start C25K. I figured if she could do it, so could I. That sparked the whole thing. I come here and started logging my calories and started running. I am down to 229 now and am already seeing a difference with the running! Loving these challenges and I am from here on out stepping it up!
Thanks for being patient with me!0 -
Oh yeah, we are sitting steady at 4th place.0
-
Sorry for not logging yesterday. Did 50 wood chops, drank 10 cups of water but was up on sodium. Will be doing aerobics today as well as whatever else needs to be done.0
-
