Bra ideas needed

So I've lost 18 of 65 pounds so far. My bras are now too big in both the cup and band. Decent bras are expensive and if I buy new ones now they will surely be too big again in 20 pounds.
I could go the thrift store route, but the thought of wearing a strangers undergarment is really gross. I could wear a sports bra but they look awful under clothes.
Help!

Awe. I really do sometimes when I have a tight undershirt. But I am large breasted and it's embarrassing to go braless unless I wear many layers.0 -
Buy some cheap stuff for the transition. Try Walmart or Amazon, the kinds you get in packs of 3 lol. I find sports bras can be pretty forgiving too if you're in between sizes!8

Target. The Maidenform ones aren't expensive and are ok. They won't last as long as good ones but hopefully you don't need them to last long.3

Yeah but that squishy boob look really isn't attractive on me.1 -
I will check out the Maidenform bras. Any other brand suggestion would be appreciated.0

I hate bras and only wear them when I have to get dressed up formally, and not always then. I wear tank tops, some actually have cups. I do have some sports-bras but they are rather hard to put on. But then I'm from the era when women were burning their bras. Like the others say, buy some cheap bras and celebrate your weight loss.2

I pulled the inserts from some of my sports bras and stuffed my old bras with them until I went down another size...I was just too cheap to buy bras while still losing (but I only had 30# to lose).
FWIW, I'm still trying to find decent bras in my smaller size, as my band size went down multiple sizes, but only lost a cup size (which surprised me)...but that puts me into stupid 'specialty' bras now that I'm a "normal sized" person and not overweight...nothing like being penalized for being healthy...so I typically wear sports bras as much as possible (good thing I work from home and am often working out in my spare time).6 -
I'm in love with bralettes at the moment because they're usually half the price of normal bras, crazy comfy, and I don't out-shrink them as quickly, but depends how much support you need. My breasts are definitely not small (just small for the huge band size... sigh) and they work amazingly well for me, but my 40DD and ??F family members wouldn't even bother with them.1

fair. My boobs flopping out whenever i laid down or moved in any direction but straight standing wasnt a good look on me XD Try a sports bra over a normal bra if you want all the boobs and comfort ...seriously XD love sports bras2 -

Off to Google bralette...
Ok. Those look really comfy and it would feel great not to wear an underwire.2 -

I'd wear bralettes all the time if I had small boobs.

I would consider buying one bra that fits you well now and just wash it everyday. I can’t afford to buy multiple bras while losing either.2

I would look for sales and buy a couple of bras. I like Bali bras and they are often on sale.

Torrid and Lane Bryant actually have bralettes now for the bigger boobed. I just wait til they have sales, especially flash sales online that I get emails for, and order that way. Get them way cheaper.1

I just checked them out but I saw only plus sized products0 -
Do u have a nice bra fitting place nearby? An independent shop? Tomorrow is small business Saturday so you may catch a sale and also at least the one near me, if you don't care about color it has a great clearance section (around $20 per bra).
And if you tell them you are losing weight there are some brands that are more forgiving in sizes than others and would therefore last longer.
The non fancy bra store brand I like though is called Calico.
Good luck!1 -
Wal-Mart is great if you have normal proportions. I dont think they have the best size selection but they have some super cheap bras that work well for transition. It's better than tying a knot in your bra band or wearing a used bra. I would be creeped out by that too haha.4

I like the molded sports bras. I got some at La Senza and wear them almost every day. They're awesome!

I got some additional use from my bras by sewing the band to make it tighter. If you have even beginning sewing skills you can do this. I think I Googled "How to alter bra sew smaller band". Or something similar. There are tutorials with pictures.2

If you want to go ultra cheap while losing, Wal-Mart has some surprisingly supportive and support comfy bras in the 3-5 dollar range. Secret treasures and simply basic brands. They last a year at most but that's fine if you're going down in sizes anyway. They aren't very cute, that's the drawback.0

There's some really great ideas here. Thanks all.0
