    Did you know I just call it gravy and it's always brown? Wouldn't white be more a white sauce? Or béchamel?

    Canadians can't make white gravy?

    Did you know that white gravy is made by mixing sausage bits (or bacon) with flour to create a roux, then adding milk and whisking until the milk thickens. You can even throw in that sausage, along with salt, pepper, sage or anything else, but be careful, take it off before it gets too thick as it will thicken some more as it sits. Oh so delicious.
