Hi, I’m staring the keto diet, should I count net carbs or total carbs? TIA

If you are in the US, many will go net.0

Either one.
I use total because it is easier. I also log fibre (when I do log) which is often about half of my total carbs. I also log sugar and keep it under 5g on most days. If I do eat carbs, they are fibre heavy so I can just add on a few extra carbs to my total. For example, if you want about 20g net carbs, you could go with around 30g total carbs. Being off by a gram or two is no big deal.
Do whatever works for you.0 -
How is it easier? Don’t I just subtract like 20 grams of carb but 10 grams of fiber = 10 net carbs?0

I do net carbs. If I'm logging everything on MFP it's not hard to subtract.1

I find it easier because nutrition labels are posted in total carbs. Plus it keeps me more honest than "buying" more carbs with fibre. It caps my carbs just a bit lower which works for me.
But yes, Net carbs is:
net carbs = total carbs - fibre
If I want total carbs its just: total carbs.2
