Eat less. Takes no time at all.26

HIIT or chop off a small body part a day.8

Being in a calorie deficit will do this.6

Eat less. 500 calories would take me like 4 hours in the gym or a very serious hike - nothing quick about it. Good luck!5

No, but eating 500 calories less than you are now does the same work as burning it off -- and is much faster.
There's quite a continuum between "eat less" and "not eating."

You want to become fitter and remain in calories? These are two separate things in my mind.
You will remain in calorie deficit by eat eating less (or the recommended cals MFP gave you eat daily) and if you want to become fitter, you need to find exercise you will enjoy doing and meets your 'fitness goals'. How long it takes you to burn 500 calories each time you exercise is individual.6 -
Running is the most efficient calorie burner IMO9
-
For me that's probably just over 40 minutes cycling as fast as I can on an indoor bike trainer.
But people's fitness levels are very different so that's probably not relevant to you.
As I eat back my exercise calories it's a wash apart from the fitness benefit which is what exercise is primarily for.7 -
If you're looking for an exercise, the most efficient would be running at a good pace. That could take about an hour depending on your weight/fitness level. But if you are a beginner, I'd suggest the elliptical on a good resistance for an hour.3

Depends. If they are eating less that 1600 Kcal/day, 500 less than that isn't healthy or sustainable. But if they are eating 1600, they'd have to eat back a lot of the calories.3 -
I eat at a 500 calorie deficit daily. That means I eat about 1500 calories/day and lose about 1 pound per week. I do not exercise. Were I to eat 2000 calories per day, my weight would slowly climb back up and stay there. That, or a little more, was how I was eating before.
Would I be more fit if I exercised? Yes. Would I exercise enough to replace the 500 calorie a day deficit? Unlikely. I would need to walk an hour and a half every single day. I'm just not going to do that.
So, once again, you get to choose your hard -- eat less or exercise more. For many of us, eating less is more practical.
Ironically, as you shrink, you need to further reduce your calories to continue losing. I have reached the point where I don't wish to further reduce calories so I am attempting to slowly change from a 250 lb. sedentary woman to a 140 lb. lightly active woman by slowly increasing activity. I will only know I am succeeding by what the scale reports.9 -

I can burn 500 calories in less than an hour. (I have a direct force power meter.)
That's fun, but it's also over and done with a lot faster than being hungry all day.
I don't know what sense of the word "faster" could possibly apply here?7 -
@rodsteph777 Took a peek at your diary, I recommend getting a food scale and make sure to log consistently. Nothing will derail this process faster than thinking you are on a "diet" but not losing weight, when really, you've been eating more than you think. Pastel de platano suena deliciosa though4

Do you prefer cardio, or strength-type workouts?
If cardio, run or do an interval-type exercise video, something of that nature. Depending on your size and intensity, I'd say 500 cals will take 45 mins - 1.5 hours, there are really a lot of variables.
If you prefer strength, you might want to try a circuit-style resistance workout. There are infinite variations you could try, but a simple one might go something like "Squats --> Lunges --> Burpees --> Pullups --> Pushups", 30s - 1 min for each exercise, taking as little rest as possible between exercises but maybe resting 1 min between circuits, and doing 3-5 circuits, with your bodyweight only or additional weights depending on your current abilities.
That latter won't burn 500 cals, but it will definitely get your heart rate up and use all your muscles. Combine that with a small calorie deficit (250 cals maybe), and you'll definitely lose weight and get fitter. Also, doing resistance training while losing weight has been shown to limit muscle loss (and for newbies to fitness can result in slight muscle gains).0 -
As far as I can tell, "eat 500 fewer calories" is forever / doesn't have an end date, so technically all forms of exercise burn 500 calories faster than that. It might take me two hours to burn that many calories walking, but it's still faster than the rest of my life.5

If you start with “what’s the quickest way” to do anything connected to weight loss, it is almost inevitable that you will fail.
Put together a good solid program and stay consistent. You’ll make steady progress.26 -
The Rules of Azdak. Kind of like the fitness version of Aesop's Fables.2

I can row 3000 meters at a moderate pace of about 650 cal/hr and burn 165 cals in less than 15 mins.
Do 3 sessions w/5 min rest in between and I can burn 495 cals in 55 mins w/o killing myself.1 -
Why worry about the quickest way? Find an exercise you enjoy doing and do it.3

Go for a brisk 1-hour bicycle ride.

Hill sprint repeats are ridiculously quick burn if you're an athlete and can do it with little rest in between.3
-
you can easily burn an extra 500 calories throughout a 24 hour day just by getting up and moving around. Walk more, sit less.3
-
Not knowing anything about you, I'll comment very generally... 500 calories amounts to about 50 minutes of most any cardio exercise done at a difficult/strenuous effort level.6
-
My way isn't quick as it takes me all day because i do 15-30 minute blocks at a time scattered all through out the day. But walking, plain and simple.
Now i take this number with a grain of salt, but it's 3:30pm here right now, and so far I've done 14,100 steps (9.7kms) and I've had an extra 563 calories imported into mfp from Fitbit. I'm set at sedentary which is why the calorie adjustment is so high.3 -

Cycling ... as I mentioned earlier.
Do you ride a bicycle?
What do you do for exercise?1 -
Run a 10k !1

Thank u to all who replied back with real answers. I will add those to my list. I just wanted to compare ways of burning 500 cal by cardio so I can change my daily cardio routine.
To me it is better to eat more and exercise than to torture myself by eating less .
Plus eating less but not exercising leaves ur skin saggy and loose. I prefer to exercisd and tone as fitness and shape are my goals not just weight.
I have burned 500 calories daily by cycling so to all the negative downers I wasn't asking for your opinion or smart *kitten* comments.9
