Life is short, we should eat anything we want as much as we want every once in a while so don't feel guilty1

log it and move on...
and know that next time you can just fit a pizza OR a kebab into your weekly cals.1 -
Nobody cares what you eat. Lots of us want others to feel good and be healthy. You could ask yourself: Was it good, did I hit my calorie goal? If not, can I find a smarter strategy?0

No point dwelling on it, just don't expect to lose weight if this becomes a regular habit. Once in a while isn't going to do much damage.1

If it's a blip then just move on. It happens to a lot of us! But if it's happening often, you need to take a closer look at the event and see what you can do to stop it happening again.1

One salad won't make you skinny and one meal like that won't make you fat. Consistency is what matters.4

It sounds to me that where you went wrong was earlier in the day when you didn't eat anything. If I did this I'd go nuts at night too. Were you trying to not eat all day to save your calories for dinner and went overboard? Did you just not eat for some random reason? Need some context here to help understand what happened.0

I did eat throughout the day in the end, which is worse because it means my calories are even further over!

if you just enjoyed yourself and then went back to your deficit the next day, that isn't 'losing control', its just over eating. the fact that you felt the need to post about it suggests that you weren't happy with having done it... which is what needs addressing.0 -

well you cant have it both ways...
you need to think about learning how to enjoy a meal without going completely mad with what you eat. plus there is no need to feel guilty for eating food... that's a very disordered way to think.3
