Not in my opinion. Better than other games that sit the whole time, but not even close enough to break a sweat.0

I looked at those yesterday but for $100 I would rather just buy an actual exercise machine.0

I don't have the "plus", I just have the old version. I think it's great!0

I got mine brand new at a yard sale for 15 dollers youll be surprise at what ypu can fine at a yard sale0 -
the wii can help if u buy exercise games, like Your Shape or Zumba, for example, because they help you to break a sweat. I have the balance board and wii fit plus game but it takes AGES to burn any real calories, thats not to say it doesnt help tone though- I did quite a few toning exercises and could really feel that my muscles had been worked.0

I like mine and it gets me moving rather than sitting on the couch noshing.0

I have it and I happen to like it and I do happen to break a sweat with my routine, I usually spend anywhere from 30-60 min on it. I do all of the aerobic ones and then I throw in some of the yoga, and balance ones as well. But again this is just my opinion.0

I dont break a sweat from it, but being very overweight, i do FEEL it. I am not just doing that so i can not confirm the results i have to just that, but i would think it helps. Def gets me off my butt and away from my computer, so thats good in my book!0

I he the active 2 which I love I thought I could do the wii fit on the days I'm not doing my active0

Depends on how you use it and how fit you are. For someone that is totally out of shape it can be a great start for a athlete it won't even tickle his/her muscles.
You need to see what you need and what you want from it.
I bought the xbox 360 with the kinect system and a couple of exercise programs, some of the workouts are pretty good for my fitness level on those programs. I'd recommend:
My Shape Fitness Evolved
EA Sports Active0 -

IMO it was fabulous place to start if youve never exercised or moved your *kitten* much.
I was 240lb when i started the wii was enough for me at the time for starting out, then bought biggest loser game which i can praise now for helping me lose 22lb in 12 weeks i think.
As i got slimmer got fitter i need something harder, thats when i got rid of the wii start to buy other stuff like weights, harder dvds, kettlebells.
I have bought a kinect for personal fun use though, i find the games not fab to be honest, i hate your shape its sooo poor in my eyes, zumba is a workout again i got the biggest loser.0 -
It served me well when I'd get winded just thinking about exercising! Now the disk is just gathering dust, but the board continues to get work.
I bought the $20 thing to raise the step and use it for doing steps while I'm watching something on tv (if I'm feeling ambitious). I found that there was too much time in between exercises on the game itself. I also use it with the Active II for some of the games, and that gives a pretty good workout.0 -
I have the Wii Fit Plus and find it a fun way to get up and moving. I've lost three pounds in three weeks by working out on it almost every day (usually 30-40 minutes) and sticking to a low-fat meal plan. : )0

If you are looking for a serious workout - go for the wii active, wii more active - or the best of all 3 (in my opinion) the wii active 2. I love the wii fit for the yoga on my non-workout days. But for a real workout - go for the active series!
I also just do the wii fit step (I think it's called free step) and I watch TV and just walk while I do it - or the free run. There is one game on there that is fun and a serious workout - I can't think of the name of it - but you go around the island and find flags - I jogged 5 miles one day!0 -
Last month, I purchased the Wii Fit plus with the balance board. It got me moving again. I find exercise just for the point of exercising to be extremely boring, so the game-ish style of Wii is fun for me. I try to get in some yoga and games a few times per week. For someone in my shape, that super hula hoop gets me sweating lol!
Today, I started a latin dance workout game. Once I get my feet moving in the right directions, I suspect it will provide a more "serious" cardio workout. Just for those days I feel more ambitious ;-)
Best to u and ur wii!0 -
I really like mine. The "workout" you get from it is totally dependent on how much effort YOU put into it. One thing, though, don't trust the numbers it gives you. It was consistently telling me I was running at a 6-6 1/2 min mile (which I KNEW could not be true) so I don't really trust any of the calculations that come out of it. Zumba is a great program and I sure can work up a sweat on it! Like a PP I do Free Step/Free Run when watching TV...it's a free workout cuz I'd be sitting watching it if I wasn't moving! Good luck and enjoy it!0

I've seen it in action in my home, and if you pick the right exercises, it looks like it will tone, strengthen, increase balance and coordination. It does generate a fair amount of sweat if you're using it right. Thumbs up here. I'm not personally using it yet, being I'm going for those 600+ calorie workouts on cardio equipment to jumpstart metabolism, but later as I approach target weight, I"ll be on it to increase agility.0
