I just discovered nutella...I think I am in trouble!

I have never had Nutella before last saturday, but I have been wanting to try it. So...I did. The cafe in our Barnes & Noble store had this nutella to go packet, so I figured I'd try it. It was SOOO good!
Later that day I went and bought a jar. It's not that much worse than peanut butter since skippy is 190 cals for 2 tbsp and nutella is 200 cals for 2 tbsp, but still soo good!
I think I am in trouble now! Trying to find ways to include it in my food without going over... lol

It's really good on apples. lol0

if i have a chocolate craving, i slice up a banana and put a bit of nutella on each slice - so good!0
-
That's exactly why I will never try it. I'm better off not knowing what I'm missing.0

Run away quickly.......not really...it is so good and you are right it is soooooo expensive (calorie wise) but I do work it in everynow and then....I like it on graham crackers....or sometimes just the spoon.....0

Back away from the nutella. Just . . . slowly . . . back away. There's no way I could have that in my house.0

I put that shizz on top of a cookie the other night... dont ever buy it from costco is what Im saying...0

Exactly what I was going to say! 1 Tbsp and a gala apple will run you about 150 cals which is awesome and you get a little extra Nutella left over to savor!
You can also try it with bananas, but I think the banana sort of overpowers the Nutella. It's really good on whole wheat toast too! Tastes like a pastry.0 -
I LOVE Nutella, but my trainer told me not to eat it.0

yep it IS great stuff put here by the  !!
I do try to include it every once in a while on low fat vanilla wafer cookies.....but honestly, just pray everyone else in the house gets to it FAST!0 -
yeah, I can't buy it. I'll stand at the open cabinet with a spoon. It doesn't last a night.0

Haha... this makes me laugh, because I did the same thing! I bought it not realizing it was going to be THAT good! I made my husband take it to work, because there is NO WAY I could just let that sit in the fridge or stop at 2 TBS!!0

I spread a tbsp on a slice of whole grain bread, top with sliced strawberries and roasted oats. Great dessert treat when I'm under my calories at the end of the day.0

Absolutely! Back Away, turn around & run as fast as you can!!!
A matter of fact, I believe a jar of nutella a week ago was what spurred me to get back on MFP and start calorie watching. I can't keep it in the house because a spoon is always in it. It's like crack.0 -
I also love it - I have a jar in the cupboard and refuse to go near it now!0

Oh and its super good in wonton wrappers then baked...0

In Italy Nutella is vitamin fortified! My husband thought he was crazy when he came back from a trip and it wasn't here. I found some in an Italian grocery and indeed it was! He was so glad he hadn't lost it! Ha ha! Anyhow, um...maybe a little on crackers. Or just as a treat?0

Why??0 -
RUN!! THAT STUFF WILL TRIP YOU UP! If any part of you tends to binge eat or emotionally eat, finishing a whole container at one time is too easy. ...and forget about it if you have any degree of PMS. That stuff should have a warning label!0

You know what I do with it? I take 1/2 a tablespoon (YES ONLY 1/4 of a serving) and I spread it on a serving (which is half a wrap) of Joseph's Flax Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Lavash Bread and slice up have a banana and two strawberries (all thinly sliced) and lay the sliced up fruit on the wrap. Then roll it up. DELICIOUS! I usually warm up the wrap for a couple minutes before I spread the nutella and lay the slices of fruit in it.
All for 161 calories, 28 carbs, 5 g fat, 7 g protein, 13 g sugar, 5 g fiber.0 -
2nd week of my diet I had to take it to work and left it in the lounge for my coworkers to have....gone in a week.
that's exactly why I couldn't have it in my house0 -
Try mixing it with marshmellow fluff. It increases the volume with only about 20 more cals and no fat. I also mix it with peanut butter (my achilles) and make a sandwich that doesn't blow my calorie intake.0

The Nutella addict in me is screaming for you to run away and never look back right now. I can eat it plain and be in heaven, unfortunately. But thankfully, I've had an unopened jar in my pantry sitting there for a month so I may just have kicked the addiction.0

Diet is only one part of losing weight... and Nutella is actually not all that bad for you. Anything in excess is bad for you, even water... it's called drowning. Find the balance, stay with the balance. If you want a little more on one side, you have to put an equal amount on the other side so you don't fall over. Look at how many callories a professional athlete -needs- to eat, and compare that to how much they exersise. Balance.0

I can't have it in my house...I'll eat a jar in one day!!:sad:0
-
I will either put it on an english muffin rather than peanut butter, or if I'm really craving something sweet at the end of the day, I'll take a teaspoon and do half nutella and half peanut butter That usually satisfies my cravings.0
-
What's killer is crepes with nutella!!! Add in banana slices and OMG...broke da mouf good!!! MFP daily food journal be damned if a nutella snack was in front of me.0
-
I cannot keep Nutella in the house. If I own it, I will eat it, just like pudding, right out of the jar, by the spoonful.
Please compare the complete nutritional stats and not just the overall calories on Nutella vs. Peanut butter. Nutella is LOADED with added sugar (21 g vs. 2g). And while Nutella has less fat, it also has less protein. It's better to stick to peanut butter.0 -
Nutella is amazing when I albsolutely cannot live without chocolate candy. It tastes just like those Ferrero Rocher candies. A little slathered on apple slices or even toast can end the crave for me.0
