Sorry for the long string of questions. I'm very curious about your thinking on this.
No I like the questions, so I'm detoxing just help me feel feel better and I'm using it a lot to hydrate myself, other than the tea in the morning I'm drinking detox water like currently it's lemon mint leaves cucumber and water and I drink 8 oz every night before bed. I've noticed that it's helping me my skin is looking a lot better and I really haven't done anything special for a month-and-a-half but every weigh in I've lost a pound.11 -

I would say with a very educated guess that your skin has nothing to do with the "tea" and everything to do with the water
Agreed! Drinking more water can absolutely make your skin look more plump and radiant.4 -

It sounds to me like you're getting the hydration you need, rather than detoxing (which, I agree, doesn't exist). Being adequately hydrated will make your skin look better. Also, being adequately hydrated will make you feel full so you eat less.

Nope. They're just a waste of money. If you want to detox, eat right - little to no processed, junk or fast food - and drink plenty of water and get walking.

Lots and lots of water is my detox of choice- once a day I add some lemon to it. Bowel movements and urination get rid of the bad stuff in our guts.6

Drinking tea in the morning -- some "detox" teas are tasty (and have basically the same ingredients as other teas) and those are great if you enjoy them. They might even result in a lower appetite (coffee does for me a bit), especially if you were eating as a routine and can replace that to some extent as tea. (Sadly, some detox teas are laxatives and I would stay FAR away from those.)
Drinking more water -- I don't understand how this happens, as I've always been someone who drinks water all day long, but some people will not drink much during the day, so it also could be helping with appetite and seems like it's good for you to have more water than you were getting (the skin). Infused waters (which is what you are consuming) are tasty, although they don't "detox" anything.
The current dieting scam about detoxing is awful and I think people no longer understand what the word "detox" means in many cases. They think "detoxing" means helping you go to the bathroom or adding hydration or nutrients or who knows, maybe weight loss.
That said, while what you are doing has 0 to do with detoxing, OP, it sounds like you are doing reasonable, and for you helpful, things, so go for it.2 -

Somehow I doubt the "satisfying" part...4 -
Please tell me. What exact “toxins” are being removed from your body. I would like the names and studies showing pre and post detox toxicity levels in your body. Where’s the proof? Why not call that company and ask them which toxins precisely, they will not have a definitive answer. It’s *kitten*. You’re wasting your money. Count your calories and stop looking for short cuts.4

Personally I don't think any detox regime can be complete without including organic beet juice. After reading up on the topic of 'methylation' and how important it is in maintaining cellular integrity, I was totally sold on the idea of betaine and it's extraordinary ability to neutralize toxins and break them down into less harmful substances that are then able to be easily expelled from the body. I'd encourage anyone who hasn't read up about methylation to do so as it is probably the most important mechanism of the detoxification process itself. Many other whole foods enable methylation to be maximized, but none are more concentrated than beet juice.28

I didn't realize adding methyl to my substrates needed to be maximized.6 -

Yep, the human body can only reach optimal health and detoxification if you regularly consume beet juice. It makes perfect sense in an evolutionary viewpoint, assuming you don't think about it too much
OP, your liver and kidneys are "detoxing" you, it's what they are there for. If you feel like you haven't been giving your body the proper nutrition, simply work on eating a more balanced and nutritious diet and your body will take care of the rest. The benefits you mentioned are more likely due to the increased water consumption, not the tea part. If you like the detox tea, just make sure none of the ingredients are a laxative. Overuse of laxatives can actually lead to dependence, leaving you worse off than you started.7 -
still waiting on the list of toxins that OP is detoxifying from....3

The idea that methylation needs to be maximized when the body is already fully capable of removing toxins with "normal methylation" is akin to thinking that one should pay $100 for an item that only cost $10.
If your body is already removing all the toxins (it is), there's no benefit to maximizing methylation to remove even more (because there are none). If $10 is going to pay for the burrito, handing the cashier a $100 bill is just going to result in $90 in change being returned. You don't get more of the burrito. You already got all of it.6 -

That's not what I said. You obviously didn't read my post properly, but then again you likely didn't want to in the first place.
As you state, certain organs do most of the work when it comes to detox, but this process is made far more efficient when the correct raw (nutritional) materials are present in the first place.
We hear detox talked about all the time, but how often do we hear methylation discussed? Not very much. Hence all I am saying is that for those serious about detox (as OP most certainly is!), reading up about the actual process(es) themselves and the substances that make it (detox) work more efficiently can only be a good thing.

Well considering I'm not the one who said it, you probably shouldn't be commenting on "reading posts properly".15 -

If our bodily organs are already efficiently removing all toxins from the body (they are or there would be serious medical consequences), reading up on the minutia of how they are doing so (for instance, methylation) would be severely majoring in the minors and would not be helpful to anyone attempting to improve their nutritional wellness.10
