I'm pre-emptively posting this one because I am willing it to remain true. Major stressor #2 is resolved but was quickly replaced with a new one. I haven't eaten my feelings yet and I don't intend to. So, here's to it being written and remaining true. I will not eat my stress today.32

Ordered my standard size jeans... only to have to return them for the next size down. Also paid to have them hemmed since I feel better, and want to look nicer.20

Just got new jeans - six sizes smaller than the ones I was wearing in the spring.35

I have two: last night whilst jogging I saw another runner coming towards me and he was wearing the same light up TRAC vest.... as we passed one another he reached out and high fived me.... I felt like it was a secret club handshake....two runners passin in the night. LOL. Of course I was still aglow (not just from my light up vest...ha ha ) from having just experienced my second NSV: since 2016 I have had a goal of running up a monster hill on my route....well, LAST NIGHT WAS THE NIGHT!!!!! I did it. It is six blocks straight up (or feels like it is straight up). Each block I just kept telling myself... "you feel fine...you can breath...keep going" I talked myself right up that damn hill. and then I weeped a little at the top but then I spotted the guy coming towards me and well, after he passed I told myself "you are just a plain ol badass right now".48

Zipped up TWO size 12 dresses that I bought as a freshman in college! Obviously, it's a looong way from zipping to fitting but zipping into 12s is a far cry from the size 22 dress I wore to last year's Christmas party!49

My clothes are looser and my ring size has gone down 2 sizes.17

Awesome post. You indeed are a badass now13 -
Two fabulous nsv's today:
1.) I woke up this morning feeling "sad/sorry for myself" because the scale hasn't YET gotten back down to my lowest weight that it before thanksgiving thanksliving...I immediately started purposely thinking of all the the "good and excellent" things that's been happening in my life to ward off/fight those "blues" INSTEAD of "feeding/giving place" or allowing that mind-set to get a "hold" of me/my thoughts. Wow--once I purposely NOTICED them, I immediately started being/thinking about all the positive stuff that's happening in my life AND being thankful for the nasty stuff too, acknowledging that these so-called negative things are only helping me to become more and more patient with myself and others (among other important and necessary learning tools). I started getting my thankful and grateful on big time, just counting my "blessings" and recalling how fun and cool this "race" is and BAM...instant relief or even better, instant joy replaced those negative and discouraging thoughts and "feelings". Kick them to the curb, where they truly belong.
2.) Went to get my teeth cleaned today, and my dentist (who I haven't seen in 6 months--since I started my weight, stinkin thinking and whole lifestyle change quest) and she just kept staring at me and smiling. Then she said "you look so different, so much younger or something...whatcha doing?!?". I told her I lost 25lbs, that it was 32lbs down, but I gain a bit back over the holidays. She told me I'm looking good and she can see a big difference in me. This is the first person (outside my family or friends) that NOTICED and said something and it made me feel like a million bucks, TAX-FREE!
YAY!!!!22 -
I had my first casual acquaintance notice my weight loss today! A coworker commented that I was “slimming down”! I am down 29lbs so far, and can’t wait to see the reactions when I lose the other 40!
Also...holy crap! I’m almost half way there and didn’t even notice! Can’t wait to see the changes.26 -

Boom That's the ticket!6 -
I have one close friend that I see pretty much every day, and my weight loss has been gradual enough that he hasn't noticed specifically that I've lost weight. Instead I get the occasional ever-so-slightly surprised-sounding, cocked-headed comment like 'You look extra sexy today, I don't know why ...' over the past few months. As it happens, I am not at all into the idea of advertising that I'm trying to lose weight. Maybe it's because it would be admitting to the world that I was fat before rather than being in denial that they magically saw me as slender this whole time? So this works out perfectly for me, as if I'm gradually 'forcing' people in my daily life to see me the way I see myself (not just my appearance but my self worth), and maybe this new impression of me will gradually replace the impression they had before subconsciously.31

I'm wearing a dress today that I've worn before but NEVER without spanx!! It feels weird but fantastic at the same time!26

Day 130 of logging!27
-
No longer having a tummy so large, I could use it as a "tray" or arm rest. I LOVE that!25
-
Yesterday, my boss told me that my pants were too big!19
-
I find myself crossing one leg over the other while sitting. Not sure why this became a thing but it is comfortable. I had not done this prior to loosing weight and frankly, probably couldn't.20
-
I busted out 14 pull ups today: 2 sets of 5 & 1 set of 4.28
-
I started running on my treadmill in September and am now able to run 10k most days before work, it only takes me 90 min (not sure how good that time really is but it is good for me!)25

Just discovered I can now wet and condition my supercurly hair in the morning by leaning over -- which amounts to belly-balancing ON -- the granite rim of the tub ... without feeling all my organs squish and losing my breath and getting mildly nauseated after. Believe it or not, a real woot woot.21

Fitting nicely in a zip-up hoodie that I've had for 8 years, didn't know I still fit in it.14

Was sitting in the steam room and noticed that when I look down I can see both my sides, without moving my head!! New and awesome!!
Also my legs are actually getting to the point where I call them skinny!! (it's where I lose all my weight apparently - just like my mum haha)15 -
My husband bought me a pair of pants two Christmases ago. At the time it was a few sizes to small, but I kept them as a goal, since I do like the style. A month ago (maybe 20lbs into my recent weight loss), I pulled them out and was able to get them on and buttoned, but were still too tight to wear for work. Belt that came with the pants was tight on the first hole.
This week, I wore these magic pants to work, with the belt on the third hole, and felt amazing!
They've also really helped me understand the different styles of women's pants. They are "curvy" and the size I wear in this style is 1-2 sizes smaller than in traditional pants, because these really fit my body. If I try on "straight leg" pants, I need to go up 2 sizes to get my thighs to fit, and then the waist is way too big.
I honestly never understood these terms in this way before, and had the hardest time finding pants that fit me. I would think that I want my pants to appear straight, not curvy, not understanding that it was more about sizing proportions than appearance. Major aha moment!18 -
I have been struggling lately with getting myself to be able to see my progress. I know it is in my head, but I still see the fat girl that I was. When I started this journey I was in a size 20W button down shirt and I had to make sure I wore something underneath because it as a little tight and I didn't need to add a wardrobe malfunction to my resume...
I haven't parted with those shirts yet because I bought them just before I started this journey and they cost a lot of money and they're all still like new, so I've been wearing them under sweaters (it's winter in New England, a balmy 21 degrees this morning!) to hide their :"oversized-ness." I did recently buy a new button-down, to be able to wear under a blazer, and I'm comfortably in a size 16 - no W.
Today, as I was standing in front of the mirror over my dresser buttoning up one of those too-big shirts, I thought holy-crap... I can never wear this again without a sweater because I look like I'm drowning.
So... here's to my head catching up to my body.
Happy Friday everyone!25 -
I've been in desperate need of new sports bras and leggings for some time now, so when I saw VS Sport was having a sale I took new measurements, scrupulously studied the size charts, and ordered...XS for everything. XS?!
I'm skeptical it will fit upon arrival, but I still ordered the size I measured for as I know I'll eventually fit it...but boy was that weird.
When I first started losing weight, I could no longer fit any of the sizes carried in the store as I was too big. Now I'm almost too small to shop there (maybe....probably...this is weird....)!22 -
I'm down a belt hole and also seem to be less out of breath doing things in general

Saw a friend of my mom's who has known me since high school, but not seen me for about a year, and she stood right next to me for about fifteen minutes in the lobby at church talking to other people before doing a double-take - she didn't recognize me at first. She said I look like she remembers me when I was much younger.
My mom asked my husband if I wanted any particular clothes for Christmas and said I was "blooming." And it's fun picking out clothes I want, because everything comes in my size!
Tried on a glitzy holiday dress, which was cute but the only size the store had left was too big for me, and then noticed it was junior's sizes.
And in more serious news, I really really like what running every other day does for my blood sugar. Not only does it go down and stay down on the day I run, it stays down for most of the following forty-eight hours. I have to avoid the temptation to eat too much carb- heavy stuff, not because it will spike my sugar levels but because it doesn't fit into my calories. I've been using my blood sugar meter as a diet aid - can't overeat French fries, bread, pasta or sweets because my sugar would go through the roof and conveniently it also controlled my portion size and calories - and now having a little more freedom to eat what I want without spikes, I have to be careful not to overdo it. That's a good problem to have!17 -
Most recent NSV... FEELING GREAT! I feel like this will be a long lasting NSV.17

We're having ugly sweater day at work today. I pulled mine out of the back of the closet and wore it to work, and I can't believe how many comments I've had telling me that I'm drowning in it! It's hard to believe that it fit perfectly last year at this time... guess I need to go find a new ugly sweater!18
