What kind of surgery? For weight loss? Have you spoken with your doctor about when you can begin eating again?0

Ummmm. You should’ve spoken to your doctor about this. Also what kind of surgery? Did you have teeth removed? Then no, you’d dissolve the clots with warm liquid. Or did you have a foot surgery? We need precise information. Above all else. CONTACT YOUR PHYSICIAN or acting surgeon.1

I had weigt loss surgery done0

It's my understanding that "not thick enough" is what you are aiming toward at this point in your recovery. Your healing stomach doesn't get stressed by broth like it does with something thicker. Tomato soup would be more of a puree stage food.0

You made the choice to have this surgery.. i would suggest letting go of the complaints you are having now that its done. You got the surgery for a reason.0

Ok, didn't they prepare you for this? You're only 5 days out and you're already "hating" something. It's going to be a very long road.2

You should ask your medical team, if they didn't give you a meal plan.0

You're getting some blunt answers here. I'm assuming you had plenty of pre-surgical counseling? I assume you were given a meal plan?
Sure, you can continue to sabatoge your life by trying to circumvent the rules, but
#1. It might be dangerous!
#2. You have to get a grip on your food. NOW.
Weightloss surgery is super extreme. There is no other "help" out there for you and if you can't make this work, what are you going to do? Failure to come to terms with your food and emotions will kill you. Slowly or quickly, but it will.1 -

If she pops the staples it'll be quick..
OP you're getting blunt answers because honestly you are dicing with death.....pop a stitch or a staple and there is a possibility of bleeding to death or food leaking out and sepsis occurring....but your team will have told you this.
Generally the life and death threads get the bluntest of answers, with good reason. The surgery will mean nothing if you convert back to your old eating habits. You have to control your diet, also I’d say “while maintaining your exercise regime” but I assume that’s not something you’re willing to do considering you opted for surgery.
Be smart about this, life is important and easily taken away. Any questions you have, contact your doctor or specialist. Easy as that.

When it comes to medical advice, people on the forum will probably be wary to provide answers. We wouldn't want to do any damage to your recovery. A quick call to your doctor would probably be the best solution. Good luck!2 -

People are not getting 'all hype up'. They are genuinely concerned for you.

Ask your surgeon or refer to your post operative information that you should have received. There are several types of surgeries, each will have their own set of instructions.1
