Here we go again!!
Starting on December 19 - December 28, JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 26! Lets see what more we can do as we reach a total of 260 days consecutively!
Anyone else game?
Let's give it our best 10 days ever! Here comes Christmas! This will be a trying time for a lot of us! Moderation is the key during this season. If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this. Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.

My goal is to reach 10% body fat by year end... actually by 12/30 because that is when my Dexa is scheduled. I'm going to list weight and BF% based on my scale, which is going to fluctuate at times as diet changes. On some days - and I know when those are based on diet - it will be inaccurate.
This will be my last round because I plan to switch to maintenance on 12/31 regardless of body fat % (it would still be nice to reach 10%, but I realize Dexa is unforgiving and that is a really tough goal).
Round 22:Day - Weight - BF% - Comment
11/9 - 149.6 lbs. - 16.8% - scale is reading higher than actual BF%
11/10 - 148.4 lbs. - 15.9% - scale is still higher than actual BF%, but getting closer to actual
11/11 - 147.2 lbs. - 16.9% - scale is higher than actual BF%, this time not expected
11/12 - 148.6 - 16.8% - scale is still showing higher than actual BF%, still not entirely expected. I have a theory as to what is driving the incorrectly high BF%.
11/13 - 148.6 lbs. - 18.5% - Yesterday was a re-feed / glycogen replenishment day. I'm surprised weight did not also increase, but expected BF% to be unreliable. I expect it to remain that way for the next 2-3 days.
11/14 - 147.2 lbs. - 16.4% - Depending on whether I eat a lot of fibrous green vegetables today, BF% will either stay pretty stable by tomorrow morning or will decrease. I may find it hard to feel full without lettuce or green beans... but since scale BF% is just artificially high if I eat them and real BF% is not truly much different, I'm probably going to eat greens if I'm hungry anyway.
11/15 - 146.4 - 15.6% - No veg yesterday, scale is closer to a correct BF%.
11/16 - 146.2 lbs. - 14.9% - No veg yesterday again, and BF% is almost right where I would expect Dexa to come up. The idea that eating low carb green / fibrous veggies would affect the scale BF% so much is a relatively new revelation. Thinking back, the last Dexa was 0.3% lower than the scale on that same day (that is extremely close); and my scale is ALWAYS higher than any other measurement method or device - including other bio-electric impedance devices, which are always super low. When that last Dexa was taken and it was almost the same as the scale, I had not eaten plants for 45 days prior (except coffee, tea, and small quantities of seasonings and sauces). I still plan to eat some low carb (net carb) fibrous veggies while I continue to strive for 10% BF by 12/30, but will do take breaks occasionally to get a better idea of where Dexa will come in.
11/17 - 147.8 lbs. - 13.9% - Slight weight increase, not sure why... probably water weight. Another day without veg and BF% is spot on as close as I'm going to get to being real. Tomorrow is going to be high again based on today's planned diet.
11/18- 146.0 lbs. - 15.4% - Did not expect weight to decrease, but expected reported BF% to rise.
Round 23:Day - Weight - BF% - Comment
11/19 - 145.8 lbs. - 13.5% - Did not expect BF% to drop this much this fast.
11/20 - 147.6 lbs. - 16.2% - Both increases were expected based on yesterday's food plan. Should see decrease over the next few days until Fri. morning, which will go back up again.
11/21 - 147.0 lbs. - 15.7% - Expected a small decrease. Expect another small decrease tomorrow.
11/22 - 146.6 lbs. - 15.3%
11/23 - 145.6 lbs. - 14.8% - Will be higher tomorrow.
11/24 - 147.2 lbs. - 14.4% - Did not expect BF to decrease, but maybe that is delayed...
11/25 - 145.8 lbs. - 15.2% - There is the delayed fat storage.
11/26 - 145.2 lbs. - 15.7% - Did not expect another rise in BF%, but I can only assume it is continued delayed fat build. Tomorrow will be higher probably of both weight and BF.
11/27 - 146.4 lbs. - 17.0% - Increases expected.
11/28 - 150.4 lbs. - 14.6% - Had a spontaneous free meal yesterday and paying for it with weight gain - meal itself was probably around 4-5 lbs., including water in food... so this is about right.
Round 24:11/29 - 149.4 lbs. - 14.9% - For this round, I'm going to make a few changes. I'm not sure exactly what to expect at the beginning, but should have lower BF% by the end of the 10 days.
11/30 - 146.2 lbs. - 14.9%
12/1 - 144.4 lbs. - 14.7%
12/2 - 144.8 lbs. - 13.3% - I'm thinking this is about right again for BF%, but let's see if that holds for the next few days without changes that affect the scale calculation.
12/3 - 142.2 lbs. - 16.1% - BF definitely reading too high, but not sure why this time.
12/4 - 143.2 lbs. - 16.2% - Definitely unexpected BF... consistent with yesterday, but still incorrectly high. Unsure why.
12/5 - 140.4 lbs. - 14.9% - Some time in the bathroom this morning revealed what I think is causing the suddenly abnormally high BF% (no, not pregnant, lol). Solved part of the issue this morning, but still some to go.
12/6 - 140.2 lbs. - 12.9% - Before measuring today, spent a bit more time in the bathroom getting rid of more of what is causing the false high BF% readings.
12/7 - 141.4 lbs. - 13.1%
12/8 - 139.8 lbs. - 13.5% - I was expecting to start this round with some wonky numbers; but end up close to accurate and drastically improved weight and body fat %. Ended up losing 10.6 lbs.; about 3-4 lbs. of which was fat. I struggled in the first couple years of dieting where tracking calories didn't work and nobody could figure out why; but much learning and experimentation and I consider myself to know my body very well now and can call myself a very advanced dieter. That said, the 10% body fat goal by 12/30 is still going to be very difficult and a tight goal... but I believe it is possible.
*Next round will once again start with some high and wonky numbers at first and end up drastically better by the end.
Round 25:This round should start with some high and wonky numbers, but should be drastically better by the end.
12/9 - 139.4 lbs. - 13.9% - Surprised it isn't higher, but might catch up.
12/10 - 150.0 lbs. - 13.3% - Weight has caught up, body fat should increase soon, I would expect.
12/11 - 149.6 lbs. - 10.9% - Not sure I believe the BF%; so let's see what happens. I expected it to increase along with weight.
12/12 - 147.4 lbs. - 11.0% - Surprised BF is remaining... eventually, perhaps I'll start figuring it is correct.
12/13 - 145.8 lbs. - 11.2%
12/14 - 143.4 lbs - 11.2% - Looks like consistency on BF%.
12/15 - 141.6 lbs. - 12.6% - This is what I get for eating salad yesterday... an inflated BF% result. I know it isn't real, but still gets to me.
12/16 - 141.6 lbs. - 11.9% BF.
12/17 - 143.2 lbs. - 11.0%
12/18 - 140.8 lbs. - 11.3%

Round 23 start weight - 145.80
Round 24 start weight - 147.60
Round 25 start weight - 141.60
Round 26 start weight - 141.90
Loss to date - 9.50 lbs (avg 1.9lb per round)
Am away for 4 days of this round - hotel stay and eating out every day plus will miss my usual gym sessions. Will be walking lots though while away as on a City Break so hope that will limit some of the damage! Then follows Christmas, Boxing Day and also includes my daughters 10th birthday. Damage limitation is my only aim and just to weigh in the days I can. Not expecting or aiming to lose anything - expect to put some on to be honest - just not too much........

This is my first round ever! I have been reading these for the last few weeks and waiting until I felt solid enough to join. I have never used MFP for more than occasional tracking but I've reached my highest weight and would like to really start losing and get back to a number/look that I'm more comfortable with. I just got a scale and guesstimated my weight a few weeks ago and just weighed myself yesterday and even after three weeks of calorie counting and doing fairly well, I am still at the weight that I guessed...that was frustrating so I am looking forward to a little more accountability instead of abandoning like I normally would at this point. I'm also taking progress pictures so may post those as well.
I won't be able to weigh in from the 23-25th but will be able to track and post so we'll see how it all goes over this difficult time of the year! Goals: Moderation, tracking/weighing daily, exercise (walk/run/workout video) 7x over 10 days.

Probably the toughest week of temptation of the year coming up. Goal: to partake and enjoy within reason. I have worked hard ALL year. I know that my weight will bounce all over and as long as I get back on track I'm going to be fine. I will be fine and I will get back on track. Be super great if I didn't see any sixes (Hear that Santa?)

12/09: 158.5 Little shocked by w-i, no wonder I still felt hungry last night. Net calories red (w/i 100) & 12c water. Walked dog 3.14 miles before work and helped decorate dept. for Christmas. Fitbit 15,471 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom!) hours & 41 floors.
12/10: 161.0 Annnd it's bounce-back time. To be honest, I snacked with hubby after getting home late last night from classic holiday movie (A White Christmas) at theatre...he's used to eating after his shift ends at midnight, and I ate right along with him. Net calories red, sodium very red and 12c water. Walked dog 3.07 miles. Fitbit 16,142 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 hours & 17 floors.
12/11: 160.0 Net calories green, sodium red & 14c water. Walked dog 3.56 miles. Fitbit 17,803 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 hours & 38 floors.
12/12: 160.0 All numbers red except sugar & 15c water. Walked dog 3.11 miles before work, landed on my backside b/c of snow-covered ice patch & switching to indoor workouts for winter. Sad dog. Fitbit 15,643 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 hours & 38 floors.
12/13: 160.0 Net calories barely green, sodium not so bad, sugar red mostly from fruit, and 15c water. Walked 1 mile in workplace hike at lunchtime. Fitbit 13,953 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 hours & 33 floors.
12/14: 160.0 Treadmill 3 miles / 50:35 and shoveled snow 1 hr. (est. 8") / thank heavens for kind-hearted neighbor with snowblower. Fitbit 18,353 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom!) hours & 39 floors. Net calories, sodium & sugar all green! 14c water, could've had more with all my activity.
12/15: 160.0 Rest day after activity previous day. Fitbit 10,431 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours & 27 floors. Net calories w/i 100 green, sodium red & 15c water. Light on fiber lately, need to increase.
12/16: 158.0 Getting enough fiber helps! Net calories green, sodium good, sugar red due to lots of fruit, fiber 30g & 17c water. Walked treadmill 3 miles / 51:43. Fitbit 14,520 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 (noon class) hours & 31 floors. Still fighting off a cold, lots of zinc & water today.
12/17: 159.0 Hate this cold that's trying to get me! Shoveled snow 34 minutes. Fitbit 11,051 steps, 250+ steps 9/14 hours & 13 floors. Net calories, sodium & sugar green, fiber 20g & 14c water.
12/18: 160.0 Still fighting off a cold, going to listen to my body, skip workouts & get more sleep. More important to fight off cold than get workouts in, especially being so busy with Christmas preparations. Keep pushing zinc tablets, extra vitamin C & water. Workouts will resume once (a) I feel better and (b) crazy busy-ness ends. Net calories barely green but sodium very red & light on fiber (again) / 12c water. Fitbit 8,247 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 hours & 17 floors.

HELPFUL POSTING TIPS FOR NEWCOMERS:
1) HOW TO FIND/EDIT YOUR PREVIOUS POST.
People do this different ways. There is no "easy" way to find your last post, so many people keep their weigh-ins and comments in Memo, Notes, or Notepad on their phones or computers, then copy and paste into a new post.
If you really want to find and edit your last post:
1a. Remember the page or date & time you posted last.
-or-
1b. MFP automatically returns you to the last post you read in a particular thread, so if you read everyone else's posts first, then post yours and close the thread, you should pop back to your last post next time you open the thread.
2. When you find your post, "Quote" it, then delete [ quote ] and [ /quote ] in your new message.
Personally I find the copy/paste from Memo/Notes method to be the simplest. No messing about with deleting the quote brackets or run the risk of the app going bonkers on you mid-edit.
2) EMOJIS
Only use the MFP emojis or BBCode, otherwise your post may be cut off. Use the drop down menu on the top right of the reply box or type : then the first letter of the emotion you are looking for (s for smile, l for lol, e for embarrassed, etc.)

I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Current Focus: In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
Had a bit of a blip last round as I was ill.
Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs.
Of course, losing a pound a Round would be ace, as I would like a cushion for celebrations.
to all the Newbies, and Hi to those returning for another Round. This has given me an element of daily accountability which is motivational.
Observations, and Previous RoundsMany events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

I’m leaving in the morning for a 2- or 3-day road trip to my home town for the holidays. The next 10 days will be a triple challenge for me, as my weaknesses are travel, holidays, and family. I’m going to rock this!

12/19 - 100.4 - Out and about, I failed to eat proper food, salt-loaded snacks. I’m traveling today (no less than 4 flights!) so my goal is no snacks on flights! And healthy choice at client lunch.
