I promised my youngest son I would do something about my weight/health at Thanksgiving 2012. I was contemplating WLS but was afraid so I went back to WWers. I had lost on WW many times but never stayed on the Program. always gained back what I had lost PLUS MORE! Reached 376# at age 65!
My five year anniversary is coming up and I weighed 188.8 this week, I have lost 187.4# I now weigh my High School football playing weight!
Weight Lose by year:
2013 -60
2014 -32
2015 -16 (focused on NOT gaining back)
2016 -37
2017 -42 with two weeks left

This is awesome! It serves as further proof that if a weight loss is all about will and discipline and CICO. You are an inspiration to the older crowd here. A+++4

Well done! Another testimony that age doesn't matter. I lost half (almost) my weight at age 59-61.3

@lorrpb Yes, even though my metabolism may be “slow” I am more active now than ever in my adult lifetime.

Awesome. And kudos to your son for caring enough to give you that push.1

Well done! You are an inspiration to all of us "old timers." I should introduce you to my husband, he just can't get motivated.0

Congrats on your accomplishment! Your son may have given you the inspiration, but the hard work and victory are all yours.
Losing weight is never easy at any age, and your success is proof that age is just a number. Your perseverance and dedication will be an inspiration to many!
The best of luck to you! Very well done!2 -
I so appreciate that you shared your yearly losses. Helps to remind those of us with a substantial amount to lose, staying the course does indeed yield great reward!3

I want to congratulate you. It is my son who has motivated me as well. I hope to be as successful as you. So many times I have tried but this time I am down 30 plus pounds and don't plan on going back.1

Congratulations, Jim! It's been a pleasure to have been with you through GOAD as you accomplished your goals. As you know, things were a little "rocky" at the start but you quickly became a valuable part of our (somewhat?) dysfunctional family.1

Jim, a pleasure to know you, and your journey with us GOADies.0

Congrats @Jimb376mfp ! It's been inspiring doing this WW thing with you. I still remember your early days of GoaD... your willingness to learn was evident early on, when instead of flouncing, you started gathering the knowledge you'd need to be successful! And look at you now! I'm not sure I've ever seen your before pic, you are a mere shadow of your former self! I look forward to celebrating goal with you, and watching your maintenance journey!1

Thanks @linmueller
Yes my early days on GoaD were a struggle. We had a group of GoaD veterans that gave out a lot of advice in a Tough Love manner. No BS just told it like it is!
That term Flounce was used for Newbies that left in a huff. I had two guys I exchanged emails with off line to gripe about it. I stayed with the GoaD group because they had been through the struggle of losing weight and were passing on good information. I learned a lot here.1 -

My third year on WW. was when I hit the -100# mark. The most I ever lost on WW. I had lost 80# in 1987, got to 202 but never got below 250 for most of my adult life.
2015 was the year I learned to eat ON PLAN and NOT gain back what I had lost. I lost -16# but knew I could keep with the Plan Long Term.
2016 was like a Reboot with new Smart Points Plan.0
