Is it easy to lose newly gained weight?

I have been dieting for the past 6 months and managed to lose about 30 pounds. However I went on a vacation the past month and was eating quite a lot and have gained about 10 pounds. So my question is that if it's easy to lose the newly gained 10 lbs from a month within a short time limit, like 3 weeks. Or will I have to redo my diet and my the whole 6 month process went down to waste?
And if you have any advice, kindly leave it to me to read. Thanks!

10 pounds gained on vacation sounds like a good portion of it may be water weight. How long was your vacation?4

It was exactly one month. And I admit that I did eat quite a lot. I also noticed that my pants don't fit me as they used to, they're tighter. So there certainly is fat gain.0 -
Given that it went on over a month, I would say that it's probably a combination of water weight and actual weight gain. That said, you're still twenty pounds less than when you started so your whole six months wasn't a waste!
I would go ahead and get back on plan. If you're unhappy with having put on ten pounds during vacation, it might also be worth looking back on the month and figuring out what strategies you might want to use next time so that you can avoid this.9 -

This doesn't necessarily mean there's fat gain. Bloating from water retention may also cause your clothes to fit tighter. My guess is that you have some water retention and some fat gain, but you probably didn't gain 10 pounds of fat. You'd need to exceed your maintenance calories--not your weight loss calorie goal--by 35,000 calories to gain 10 pounds. So unless you ate over 1,000 calories beyond maintenance every day for the last month, it's probably not all fat.
You'll probably see the water weight go away after a few days of your usual routine.4 -
These last 6 months were certainly not a waste. At the very least you're 20lbs less than you were before!
Often when we take a break or vacation, we can gain extra water weight. I'm not actively losing, but shoot, last week I gained 8lbs over a 4 day period adding extra exercise, eating out, consuming ridiculous amounts of movie popcorn, and dealing with my TOM! It's mostly gone now, but I'm still 2-3 lbs over where I was 2 weeks ago. I expect all that to be gone by Friday if I stick to my plan. And then, it will probably spike up again with Christmas.
Even if some of what you gained was actual weight, it won't be so hard to lose it. You already know what to do! Just get back to what you were doing before your vacation and you'll get back to your regular drop rate.
Good luck!0 -

Do you think it's possible to lose it all within 3 weeks?

Gettng back on track now is the main thing. If that weight is still sticking around after a month most of it sounds like fat gain.
Its a lesson learned for future holidays - I did something similar myself when I first lost my weight, gained a true 6lbs on a cruise and it took me 8 weeks losing it. After that time I told myself never again would I allow that to happen and 5 years on that holds true because I still keep an eye on my intake even when on holidays. I aim to eat no more than 500 over maintenance calories knowing that will mean no more than a gain of 2lbs - 2lbs is easy enough to lose, its when 2 becomes more that I don't like it.

Possible, but not guaranteed. Try not to stress about it - you’ve learned something about yourself and vacations. Feel good about the 20 pounds you’ve lost (that’s awesome!) and get back to a deficit if you want to lose more.4 -

You keep asking if you can lose the weight in 3 weeks.
When I asked why you need to lose it in that timeframe, your response was 'getting back on track'.
You can get back on track today, not in 3 weeks.7 -

Just get back to a moderate calorie deficit, and find out how long it takes (no deadline). Undereating/underfueling isn't the most health-positive choice for old or new fat, and the water weight portion will likely be gone within 2-3 weeks at the outside regardless.5 -
If you gained it in 4 weeks, you can probably lose it in 3 weeks,
BUT!!!!
Just like everyone else said. Just get back in the saddle, and do the same thing that's been working

Begin a 250 per day deficit immediately. This puts you on track for 0,5 lb per week fat loss, which is the most you should target. You will likely lose about 5 lbs water weight as well within a week or two. So altogether i would guess 4-8 weeks to lose 10 lbs if you stay on track.1
-
The truth will reveal itself when you jump back on a deficit..drink a lot of water..cut down your salt.. and in five six days you'll know where you are...and just keep going till you lose it all. you can do it!1
-
I just got back from a one week vacation and gained 10 pounds. Obviously I didn't consume 35,000 excess calories so I didn't panic. After being home for a week and logging, I am back to where I was before vacation. Just get back on the horse and you'll be fine.2

Can water retention show on my body? Because as I said, my pants is unzipping and I'm afraid what I gained is mostly fat.0

Yes, water retention can show.
Why fret about it? Doing so burns no extra calories, and doing it tends to make us less happy.
Just start eating at a reasonable, moderate calorie deficit, and drinking adequate (not excessive) water daily.
Weight/size that drops off faster than your calorie deficit explains? That part was water weight. The rest? Fat, mostly.
You're gonna be fine.1
