Syncing with Vivofit 3

Short story: I logged religiously on another site between 2009-2014, then decided I didn't need to anymore.
15 lbs. later, I'm back. MFP is a much better product than the other site. (If you want to know which one it is, ask. It's a long and disappointing story and I'm hoping for a better experience with MFP.)
Along with MFP, I bought a Garmin Vivofit 3 in hopes it would sync thru Garmin Connect with MFP. It's supposed to, but the process to connect MFP w/ GC doesn't seem to actually work.
I see a lot of help threads about the FitBit, but nothing with a solution for the Vivofit. Am I just out of luck here?

My FR920XT syncs through Garmin Connect to MFP just fine - the API that interconnects Garmin and MFP is device-agnostic as far as I know. What have you done to connect the two?0

MFP > Apps & Devices > Garmin Connect > Connect. That takes me to connect.garmin.com and my dashboard. And my vivofit *is* syncing with GC, but GC is not populating MFP. And because I'm always presented with the 'Connect' button, I don't believe I am actually connected. This is confirmed by selecting 'Connected' under the Garmin Connect option in MFP. It's blank, so nothing is connected.0

Houston Wolf, Welcome back. I use this device VivoFit 3 - and you have to press and hold the "sync" button with the GC app open to make it sync the data to the GC app - from there it should Sync automatically to MFP. It works like that. With Fitibit (Charge 2 HR) it was more frequent auto-sync (but also charge the device every 4 days).
The accounts (GC and MFP) should be connected to "sync data" and Garmin selected as "step counter"0 -

When you say "sync data" are you referring to a setting on the device itself and not the Garmin Connect app? I don't see that option, nor do I see a selection for "step counter".
I'm not having an issue syncing from the vivofit 3 to GC. That's working just fine. What I can't seem to do is connect the MFP app to the GC app.
Thanks for your willingness to help out. Much appreciated.0 -
I figured it out. It's easier to do on the website than in the app.
Thanks all!0 -
Congrats, you're right - I had also found websites easier than apps. This is a good tracker with basics and a good battery life. It's also waterproof - I am tired of charging devices. Good Luck.0

I had a problem with this as well, but fixed it by making my account names the same and using the same email address for both. Took me forever to figure this out on my own, hope it helps someone.0
