I plan to track as I go to see where my calories are and try to leave some wiggle room for treats.2

Im not tracking but im not going full on pig either, theres just nothing that motivates me to gorge on food now.i will eat a good dinner have a pudding but try not to snack in between, but i will not track , no point for me.then back on it5

A. I'm on my fourth day of a logging break. Will go back to work on Wednesday.3

C. Going to my Mom and Dad's house for Christmas. Dinner will be ham, scalloped potatoes and green bean casserole - all of which I HATE!! So it'll be easy for me to have a couple of glasses of wine, a couple of Christmas cookies and then go home and eat my "regular" stuff.6

I'm going to try to eat at maintenance until the 1st. I just want to enjoy the holidays without constantly worrying about food- plus, after almost 5 months of a deficit, it will be a nice break for body, mind, and soul! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday.4

Maintenance or slightly over. I planned the menu of grilled salmon, asparagus, and potatoes. I’ll keep it to 2 glasses of wine. The part I can’t control is what guests bring — like cookies. I’ll get lots and lots of steps.2

We have already had our family Xmas get together. My internet was down, so I
D. Didn't track anything
But we did have a mostly healthy, reasonable calorie meal (pork chops, roasted potatoes and zucchini, salad, rolls)
It's back up, so I plan to choose plan C on Xmas eve and Xmas day.

I ate a little less all week to save calories for Christmas Eve dinner. I don't celebrate the holidays on any other day so I don't need to worry about that. I'm estimating my calories for Christmas Eve dinner but I have a lot to play around with so I'm not too worried.1

I plan on using all 3, except I will still enjoy myself. Track my food doesn't stop me from having a good time. What's important is the special time spent with my family, creating wonderful memories. Food and drink will be included, but it won't be the centre of my attention.
In addition I'll continue to calorie cycle, watching my average calorie intake, over the week, rather daily. I'll save calories for things I really love. Balance heavier meals, with some lighter ones. It's all about balance and adjusting my intake to suit me. I'll log as accurately as possible, but also estimate in some situations. Aiming for close to maintenance calories over the next fortnight. Having a target calorie range of 1,700 up to 2,000 calories per day, as it's a special occasion. But if I go over, it won't bother me. Tracking at/after each meal does help me to cap excess calorie intake and not eat mindlessly. This will also keep my 625 day unbroken streak, of accurate daily logging. It will also provide accurate data for me, to analyse in the future. But should one or two days go above this target, it won't bother me.
I'll use Christmas as a planned diet break, then in the New Year, I will continue as planned. Cutting calories once again, to have a calorie deficit, aiming to lose my final 0.5lb, to reach my goal.

Thats my strategy as I do wish to savor in once a year food options, but I also recognize/appreciate the accountability and habit of tracking.
Last year, I went with a combination of B/C and I was miserable and distracted by the need to stay within a range when all I really wanted to do was enjoy brunch with my family - a brunch we only do together once a year on Christmas. That’s meaningful to me - the memories of the time together are worth any extra calories I might consume in Christmas Kolbas or the Hungarian paprika bacon....
... but I also have a cruise to the Caribbean 2.5 weeks later, so I won’t go hog wild either. Back on track starting with dinner at home on 12/25.6 -
