Hi I'm Rebecca. I'm focused on making myself healthy. I'm goal is to lose 40#. Problem is I only consume 879 calories a day. Any tips?

    What are your stats? (height, weight, activity etc)

    Besides being unhealthily low, 879 is a very specific number. How do you determine how much you're eating - are you using a food scale for all solids and measuring cups/spoons for liquids? Do you just guess? Do you use accurate database entries? Do you days where you don't log?

    This is all new to me I was looking for a calorie counter and here am. have never tried start loosing weight at the first of year but it will be my 3 1/2 month goal finishing on birthday in April. 20lbs loose between now then, don’t access gym or workout machines do many miles awesome private trails walk on. stretching every morning 15 min. then hopefully 30-60 minuets 6 days week, from what this website telling can 2110 calories each day. The last two years let self fall out shape sure hope cardio work me

    Note how even a one-year-old has caloric needs of, on average, 900 calories? You need to eat more.

    1200 is generally the minimum for women, but this is a marathon, not a sprint. It's usually better to opt for a less-aggressive weight-loss, something that won't have you feeling hungry and deprived after the first couple of weeks.

    No, I didn't just guess. I put it in my food diary on myfitnesspal. I actually are more yesterday than I normally do.

    You didn't get to need to lose 40lbs by only eating 800 cals.

    Sorry you don't like the honesty, but it's true. If you were only eating 800 cals for any length of time the weight would be dropping off you.

    What size eggs did you have? Did you add milk/cream/cheese? If so, were these weighed or measured? Did you use oil in the pan?

    How many grams of cucumber did you eat?

    What is in tomato salad? How many grams did you eat? Did it have dressing?

    Was the chili homemade, or store bought? If you made it yourself, did you weigh/measure every ingredient? Did you eat the whole amount, or only a portion? If you only ate a portion, how did you determine how much you ate?
    If it was store bought, did you weigh it?
    Did you add anything to it?

    For every entry that you used, did you double check the nutritional information on the database entry against the label or search for a reputable source to compare against?
