Book Recommendations

I'm looking into reading more books in 2018 since I've been slacking off this year and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations or books that they've just enjoyed this year!
Looking for other people that just enjoy reading!
I usually like to read some fantasy things, YA stuff, horror and biographies. I'm in the middle of reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman - one of my favourite authors.

It’s separate and a sci-fi0 -

I have the same goal! I love to read, if you like mysteries, "The Night Film" is excellent. I just finished it.0

I love to read as well but I've been slacking off big time this year. I don't think I've heard about that one before, who is it by?0 -

East of Eden - John Steinbeck
Best book I’ve read in a long time3 -
Because of the TV adaptation on SyFy, I started reading The Expanse. Enjoying the series. Enjoyed Millennium, the series upon which The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was based. Actually, they did Swedish versions of all three books by the original author, Stieg Larsson. Unfortunately, he died in 2004. Almost as unfortunately, his estate allowed the series to continue under a different author. Layer Cake and Viva La Madness by J.J. Connally. Anything by Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens. Vonnegut. To Kill a Mockingbird.0

Anything by Brandon Sanderson or Brent Weeks.0

Idk if anything I'm into will interest you. I've been reading romance novels and been thinking about getting into mysteries0

I usually enjoy reading whatever as long as it peaks my interest! I have read a few romance novels before like How to Fall in Love by Cecil Ahern and I absolutely loved it0 -

Have you read any of the Tarryn Fisher books?
They are great imo. Start with the Opportunist. Marrow and Mud Vain are great too.0 -
Not “books” per se, but have you read Gaiman’s Sandman series?
I always scoffed at the notion of a “graphic novel” before I read that. The man is a very good writer, giving you a lot of emotion in very few words.
As for horror, I can think of nothing more sinister than Cormac McCarthy’s The Road.0 -
I’m an avid book worm usually. Particularly love fantasy genre. Try Kushiel’s Dart - Jacqueline Carey series or Riftwar Saga- Raymond E Feist, Maggie Furey- Aurian etc1

Can you describe love fantasy? Is it like steampunk harlequin?0 -

Exactly so. Like real love, sometimes it requires imagination and bail money.0 -

I finished a book this week that happened to have a sex scene in it. I was rattled. It was hard to get through those pages.0 -
