figure i might as well be honest with myself and admit the gain. that's why i am here for the good, bad, ugly. seems sometimes i don't want to post because i have nothing good. there is alwas something good happening in my life. even if it's just waking up. i woke up. that's why i come here all day everyday. you guys are my support and when i fall is when i need you guys. i fell, and am picking myself back up.

I will be getting the kids up soon and getting them ready for school. Then I will be going to my bellies, booites and biceps class. It reallydoes feel good to be exercising again. I love my morning classes. If I dont do it in the morning then I dont want to do it for the rest of the day. It gets really hard to get motivated then. I will check in later after I get home.

Going to have to echo Katy's sentiments! It has been a crazy weekend so sorry I haven't been around.
Not a great weigh-in for me. I knew I had a bad eating and exercise weekend but never thought I would be up over 2 lbs.!!! I think I am retaining some water so I will work on that today and maybe weigh in tomorrow morning to make myself feel better. But onward and upward!!

katie...you are doing so good. i can't beleive you are still losing over a pound a week. you have done such a great job :bigsmile: you can do this. how many calories do you eat?
amylou...i agree i was surprised at my gain too. it has to be the salt. i ate out two meals this weekend. i find when i eat out i hold water bad. hang in there.

well... 149 again. erg. :explode: BUT it is not a gain so i can't complain too much :bigsmile: i just don't know how to get out of this plateau... (the BF thinks I don't get enough protein ... which is true but im not sure how that would effect my weight loss ...) hmmm. well this week is low carb, high protein so hopefully it will get me out of this 149/150 thing anyways congrats ladies... all your hard work is paying off!!!!!:flowerforyou:

I updated my ticker & current weight with a big gain. I've got a million excuses for it, but they really don't matter. I need to make the changes & stick with it., still working on getting the motivation back.

strawberry....i was listening to jillian michaels podcast yesterday and she said that when you are plateaued more than 2 weeks it comes down to the amount of calories and the workout. she suggested that you exercise 4x's a week an hour each time and burn 500+ calories in that hour. and stick to calories of 1200 to no more 1600. for your weight i would say 1200/1300. she doesn't eat exercise calories. she says if this doesn't kick it back to losing than that is where your body wants to be and you are now maintaining. just thought it would give you an idea of may be going on.

I eat about 1300 cal / day... so thats good but I NEED to workout more... (I am active... but I don't work out as much as I should... so that is the BIG issue... My for the day is you ladies / this group... if I wasn't posting here I think this 149/150 thing would have caused me to quit... Sometimes I just think well I look okay right now so why work my a** off for no progess when I could do nothing and only gain a few? BUT:flowerforyou: you girls have helped keep me on a healthy path, that I am truely happy about! Although I will not be close to my challenge goal I managed to stay positive through a really difficult time in my weight loss ... so in a way I think that is a victory! Well I did my class this morning and afterwards I let Ciara play at the park with a little boy whose mother also comes to class in the morning. Then I came home and did ChaLean Extreme. Tuesdays class is more weights than cardio so not a big calorie burn there. I burned 305 during that and 276 on ChaLean so a total of 581. Not to bad I guess. One of the ladies from yesterdays class told me that I was looking good so that made me feel better. It is so hard to see a difference when you have so much to lose. I dont see the 38 lb difference but I guess other people can.

I have not lost anything. I guess I am happy again just to stay at the same weight .Once I get through my medical issues then I think I can get serious about all of this again. I just dont have it in me to keep up with everything right now.....no sleep, keeping my house in order, spending quality time with my kids. The exercise is crucial but there is just no room for it right now. I hope our next challenge is the one I see good things happen!

I see the surgeon on 02/19. Not soon enough if you ask me but that was his next opening. Luckily I have met him before when they were offering me the surgery for the acid reflux that I decided against. Last night was a bad night. I woke up at 3am feeling like someone had been kicking me on my right side. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel!0 -

Yes ma'am! I cant wait. As I figure it I have been suffering with gall stones for about 2 1/2 years ago but was mis diagnosed with acid reflux. I dont blame them. They symtoms are similar. And the funny thing is that Cathy's diagnosis was what made me go in and ask my doc if this could be my gall bladder instead. I got an ultra sound and sure enough! BTW, thanks Cathy! I owe you big!0

I had mine out over 2 years ago. 2 mths before I got pregnant with my last child. Just beware when you eat certain foods make sure there is a bathroom nearby. You dont get much warning and you cant hold it either. Not to be disgusting but its the truth. I had a couple accidents after just having mine out.

you are so welcome pdx. .....mine were the size of a pea. DH and son say those are huge. you'll have to ask how big yours are when they take them out? :laugh: they gave me about 33 of the 132. i know the pain. my chest and back would hurt also. it is so much like acid reflux and heart attacks.
i agree connie, eating has been different. some foods affect me and some don't. in fact i ate a little debbie 100 calorie snack thing today and within an hour i needed the bathroom. the first week was just terrible after i started eating reg. food. a new learning game again. seems i am always having to learn/relearn losing weight.
had cake and ice cream for sons b-day. had 12th piece of cake and 1/2 cup ice cream. was soooo good. i had planned for it. but, didn't get in any exercise today. so will work a little harder at gym tomorrow. (giving in pain).
found some chicken breasts on sale for $1.79 a pound. bought 10 packages. they had 3/4 in each. at that price i couldn't pass it up. it cost me around 35 and i saved over 60. i really like chicken. DH said this weekend we will ground some and make chicken patties.
off to take a bath and put on my jammies.

Well, the loss the scale showed yesterday did not transfer to today. However, it didn't show a gain so I suppose I can be happy. I guess that cookie and pretzel did me in yesterday, huh? Well today, I had a protein shake for breakfast, two tacos and a banana for lunch, a Fiber One granola bar for a snack and I snuck two heart candies from the dish at work. Question, when those of you who do have the whey protein shakes, do you record them as part of your water intake since they are made with water?
I have to say, it was a yummy shake. I was surprised at how tastey it was!
Today I that I made it happen to get in gym time, even it was only a short run. I couldn't get out of work right at 2:30 but I headed to the Y anyway, in time to get a modest 20 minute workout in and then pick the kids up from school.
Congrats to all! Look at all the weight lost on that board! Can't wait to continue hearing from all!0 -
Another quick check-in. No idea what I weigh right now. I'm still sick, sinus infection, NO energy and I've been eating like complete crap and still haven't been to the gym. Going on 2.5 weeks now :sick: I'm just so depleted from being sick, I am just trying to keep my kiddos taken care of! Haven't read through the posts, just really wanted to check in! I miss you ladies so badly and can't wait to get back on the horse. I'm sure I've gained well over 5lbs but I'm staying off the scale for now because last time I weighed in seeing the higher number didn't help... It's not like a normal funk.
Anyway, I love you all and will try to get on and read some posts tomorrow!!0 -
hey pedal....glad to hear your still around :bigsmile: LOL. hope you get to feeling your ol self soon. boy, this is some bug going around. knock on wood i don't get it. i know strep is going around here. thank god for my body. it has kept me well through all the health issues. i am not going to question why.
katie....something is better than nothing. i didn't get in any exercise yesterday either. in fact waiting for the gym to open (new location, different hours) and than heading out. i do gym 3xs a week.

Katie, At least it wasn't a gain & good job getting to the gym.
Didn't exercise, eat well, or get in much water yesterday. I had a sore lower back and felt tierd. Today I am feeling better, still a little soreness (I don't know what this is from I didn't do anything that would cause a back ache). I am off to my exercise class and then lots of studying for mid-terms tomorrow.

just got back from the gym....tried the new one. it's not finished, asthma started acting up cause of dust. they didn't have all the machines. so only could do the treadmill and ellipical, made them into a hard workout. burnt over 800. when i was starting the workout i am on the treadmill for 5 mins, getting going good, when a worker comes up and asked me if i was there for the class? what, if i was would i have been on the treadmill and the class was suppose to start at 9 it was 9:10. i was the only one in there besides the worker (3). then tells me it will work my tummy and butt, etc. excuse me i don't want the class and i can't do those kinds of exercies yet. i told her so too. won't go back to that one until it is finished.
off to rest and eat lunch and go work out in the yard....

I am going to reweigh today. If I get a better number (i.e. my start weight, I hope!), then I'm going to log that as my final weight.
I doubt I'm at my start weight. I've been binging at night. Every day I recommit to eat within my calories, and every night I gorge, 10p and 11p being the worst for making me want to stuff my face. I'm committing again today to NOT binge - to eat within my calories. I have to -- my work pants are starting to a little snug and I cannot have that, I can't afford larger clothes!!
My binging stems from feelings of inadequacy. Going through a separation... preparing for the separation (he's not even out of the house yet).. is really tough. I have to learn how to properly vent my fears and frustrations and feelings of worthlessness. I've started writing, just yesterday. I had all these emotions and I couldn't get them to go away, so I hand wrote them onto a piece of loose paper. It felt better. Did the same today. It seems I have the most on my mind in the mornings. I think I will buy a journal and keep it with me, always. Write out my feelings instead of choking them with food. Also going to look on Craigslist for a treadmill, elliptical, gazelle, SOMETHING so that I can workout my frustrations at night. I'd rather be jogging at 3am than stuffing my face. Much healthier.

I did day 2 of ChaLean Extreme. It was harder than the first day. I am still sweating from it and that was 30 minutes ago. Of course Ive been walking around and doing other things.
I had to and get a water cooler today. We got a well during the summer and they ahve tested it twice and both times it comes back with some type of bacteria in it. I have been buying bottle water since I quit drinking soda but I have water bottles all over my house and my car. This way I can just go to the cooler and fill up when I want some cold water. YEA>

Hey ladies. I hope everyone is doing well. I read all the post and i'm glad that we share so much. I am settling into the job just fine and I moved in this weekend and when I got my car back the front windshield was cracked horribly. They will repair it soon and I'll be finished w/ the rental car. Then to unboxing. I have not unpacked all my stuff yet. One box at a time. LOL. I am excited to have made it this far. I have been jogging in the morning the past two days. I have also been working out 5 days a week. Eating as healthy as I can too. So, all is well. I believe I am at 219 the last time I checked. Thanks for the Jillian tip about breaking a plateau. It was helpful.

weighed again this morning and i'm afraid my gain yesterday was a real one! Yuck!!! But I am working on getting back on track today. Today is a long day, I'm in class until 8pm tonight so I am at the library now in between to get some work done and check in with all of you!!! I will try to get a few personals in now and a few more later!!
Lauryn - Hang in there sweetheart! I think journaling is a great idea!! My parents have been divorced for about 9 years and when my mom was going through that rough time, she kept a journal and it really helped her to write things out. It also kept her from turning to me with her frustrations when I was just as frustrated and upset about my dad (I was 15 at the time). I will be thinking about you and I wish you the best!
Rhiannon - Get to feeling better, we miss you, but we know the best thing for you right now is rest and to be able to take care of your kiddos!!!
Deb - Midterms already?? What type of schedule is your program on?
Connie - how nice to have that water cooler!! That will really give you an incentive to drink more with all of that ice cold water right there!
Tamm - good luck with unpacking!!! I know moving isn't always fun (for me anyway) but you've got such an exciting time in front of you!!
