the pulse thing on the elliptical ??

I was on it and it took my pulse . It was first at 184 then again at 150 then 140 something What exactly this means ?? Is it good ,bad or what....

It means how many heart beats per minute. I'm not too sure with accuracy, a heart rate monitor might be better.
A good way to know how many beats you should 'max' is 220 minus your age. (not sure where the 220 came from).0 -
Only trust it if it's consistent. I've noticed that it can get thrown off by things touching it, i.e. an earbud cord.0

Not totally reliable as contact points, sweat and other deposits can change it. My elliptical came with a polar chest strap so I know mine is accurate.0
