Hi! My name is Heather...I am a 33 year old mom of 3 beautiful babies..I am from Michigan.. I have struggled and fought with my weight pretty much my entire life
I have two baby Girls who will be looking to me for self love...learning how to treat themselves..body image etc
And right now
I am an awful example for them.
I'm trying this...with as much support I can get...and as public as possible so I am held accountable.

I am 30 years old and also from Michigan. I don’t have any children but use to be a teacher and know the importance of being a good role model. Feel free to add me. I’m on here a lot.

Maybe you are attacking this the wrong way. If you struggle with your weight, it's going to be a battle. What you need to focus on, is your eating habits, and your mindset towards food and eating. If you consistently eat less, you will lose and maintain weight. It's as simple as it sounds, and you don't have to try, you can just do it. But it isn't just as easy, because food is delicious and everywhere. So you need to do, for real, and it's tough sometimes. To make it not tough all the time, you have to create a structure to build your eating habits on - what and how much you eat should match your expenditure as well as your schedule and preferences - and attitudes to support those habits. You need to do this yourself. You are only accountable to yourself. People can keep you company, and provide information, but you are the one who makes every single eating decision, every day, for the rest of your life. Feeling in charge as well as free to make your own choices will do wonders for your self esteem.

Don't think of it as "trying a thing". People's goals on here are achieved by creating sustainable habits to their life. You can do it too! It may take some time to adjust, but you'll get there. Take a peek at the "Must Read" threads in the "Getting Started" board. Lots of good info. Best of luck!

    My advice...

Don't look at it and say you have to do it this time, plan on doing this for the rest of your life...

So there is no way you can fail because you have no deadline or bench you're shooting for

Your goal is simply to better yourself, week after week, year after year... Trading in or giving up one unhealthy vise after another over time

Even if you only lose 10lbs over the next year... You still will have improved your quality of life and longevity

Giving up is just not an option... Once you start seeing progress from your work and build that momentum, you're going to shock yourself discovering the person inside

    Best of luck

    You have had great advice

It's never over. I was a classic 'fat, sick and nearly dead' 50 year old guy on the road to early death from
food addiction and self loathing. Never thought it at all possible to save myself

That was less than 6 months ago. I have turned it all round by just hitting the daily target.
By doing this you learn and develop new habits. You become resourceful.

I found if I keep my focus on doing all the planning and thinking ahead to make hitting the daily target easier
then it takes all the pressure off. Not sure if you'll get what I mean by that

Set yourself up for success. Batch cooking healthy crock pot recipes and freezing them in one serving portions
has been a major factor for me. I've lost 63lb in 5 months and reversed ALL the Metabolic diseases

never give up on yourself, I did and it nearly killed me
