Other food logging apps?

So somehow MyFitnessPal is causing random double entries in my apple health. I've tried to figure out what's causing it, but I'm at a loss. I don't have patience for it anymore, especially when I'm paying for the app ....
Question: What other food logging apps have you used or would recommend/consider as an alternative?

Not used any other apps but I have also been considering switching - too many issues at the moment with MFP. I have just (today) started to look at Lose it, You Food, and LifeSum but so far not decided on anything.3

I’ve only ever used MFP and noom.
Let me just say, I do not recommend noom at all. Awful2 -

I also didn't care for Noom.2 -
Lifesum is crap. It's pretty but the database is sparse and it does weird things with exercise logging from Apple Health. Back in the day I used a website called Fitday.com which worked great, see if that's still around.
Edit: it is and my account is still there, dang.0 -
I used to use Sparkpeople1

Have you looked at FatSecret ... it's available free from iTunes

I used LoseIt before MFP. It is similar with the calorie counting, but doesn't have user submitted entries. It also gives me more calories which I think is more accurate. I liked that app better and only switched because they didn't support Garmin.
ETA: Why are you paying for MFP? Are there features you need that are only available in the paid version?2 -

Primarily I wanted the ability to create my own recipes and I wanted the expanded macro and nutritional information... there was another feature I needed that I can’t recall at the moment.0 -

Ah, custom macros. The only MFP feature worth paying for. I haven't used Lose It in years, but I doubt it does that. It really caters more to the dieting than lifting crowd.1 -

Not trying to change your mind about MFP Premium, but for any lurkers, you can create your your own recipes with the free version.3 -
I find mfp works best when unlinked from other apps. Linking to the Fitbit app was nothing but trouble.1

I used Cronometer for awhile. It's nice because it let's you track a lot more macros. I haven't used it/logged in for awhile, so I'm not sure if anything changed recently.1

Lifesum is really awesome!1

I would recommend trying other apps. What you will find is that MFP is a lot better than other apps. I have had many that the calculations didn’t work when the portion size is greater than 1. There are many apps out there, but I ended up coming back to MFP. We all want to do things a certain way, so you will need to experiment, but it is painful! Good luck!1

I tried a few others, but keep gravitating back here.
But I know how frustrating the double entries thing is.I had to stop syncing Samsung Health because it ended up hoing into a weird feedback loop where it woyld take my exvercises off MFP, save them and thrn add tham back as new. Then reread the new number and start the cycle agan! One day I apparently rowed for well over 10,000 minutes in under an hour! In my case I ended up having to unconnect samsung version's for a while and go with just Google Fit.1 -
Sometimes I look foods up at CalorieKing.com to get a 2nd opinion.0

So I ended up deleting the app from my Apple Watch and stopped making diary entries on all devices (PC & iPad) other than my iPhone app. So far, it has been two days and everything is spot-on with no double entries. I’m still not 100% comfortable is saying it is fixed, but I’m hopeful I might be going in the right direction0

i used fitbit (and only came to mfp when i got a new device) and cronometer for somewhat specialized reasons. I haven't really tried anything else.0

I find less user entries, although they can be created, on Lose It. Plus you don't have to look for entries in grams. Enter the food and you are given the option of logging it in ounces, grams, cups, etc. by toggling through them. Only thing I don't like is you can't sync Fitbit anymore.1

Hmm, maybe I'll check it out. I usually like logging on the computer, but worth having an option.0 -
I think I found my solution! Just started using the Fat Secret app and it’s phenomenal.... best of all, it’s free and 100% accurate... no duplicates yet!0
