Today I lost it over a cheesecake...

My boyfriend and I had a fight. When we got home he pulled out my absolute favorite chocolate raspberry cheesecake from the fridge and asked if I wanted some. I reminded him I have a weigh in in the morning. So he proceeded to eat the whole piece in front of me. So I may have... yelled at him “THIS IS WHY ONE OF US HAS A FAILED MARRIAGE!” and left.

Someday I hope to not be the mad, PMSing, dieting girl that says mean things because someone ate a cheesecake in my presence.

To be fair I did later apologize. And I feel bad. But man, eating that in front of me was a very dumb move on his part.

I had to tell someone and I thought maybe some people here could sympathize.

Did he eat it in front of you like "nom, nom, nom, look at me eating this cheesecake, it's so good?" Or was it more that he pulled it out, offered you some, you declined so he ate it in the belief that you didn't want any?

It was more like “Okay, if you want to put a weigh in above cheesecake then I guess that’s on you.” Most days I really wouldn’t care but between the earlier fight and the hormones telling me to just eat it, my resolve to not eat it manifested very poorly.

Ohhh, sorry the fight came first - I thought the cheesecake yelling was the fight. I think everyone blows up irrationally sometimes. I know I do.

Well... I think you're being a little hard on yourself. A truly mean person (like myself) would have stuffed that cheesecake right up his whatever. My husband and I have an agreement that he doesn't eat in front of me when it's not time for me to eat. He can eat whatever cheesecake he wants... (for him it's usually pie)... elsewhere.

Boys are really stupid sometimes. My husband was a jerk toe today as well. He honestly is clueless. He is not deliberately malicious...just woefully ignorant.

I think he was trying to make amends for the fight by offering up cheesecake, and he got annoyed when I turned down the peace offering in favor of a better weigh in. It was a dumb call to then eat it in front of me after that, knowing full well after 3 years with me that my hanger is no joke, but I’m sure tomorrow once this blows over we will laugh about the cheesecake incident of 2018.

Dumb call? Nah. He was totally passive-aggressive trolling you. B)
