Only one...getting back on MFP...
I started this lifestyle change with MyFitness Pal in 2014 and loss over 60 lbs, down to 185. After moving to the country and a change of work schedule, I've gained that back and some. I have a million excuses I can come up with but the truth is I just stopped trying. When I would read stories on here about how people fell off the wagon, I told myself that would never be me. Well, here I am...3 steps back and starting over. Please add me as a friend as I could really use the support and I'll give support. I've done it once, I can do it again, but even better! Thanks!37 -
Biggest NSV yet. After over a year of my example my boyfriend has got a MFP account! Haven't managed to convince him that 2lbs per week loss is too fast for the amount he has to lose but he'll soon learn. Baby steps.15

I didnt sleep last night so when i went off to work thismorning i hadnt felt hungry so i didnt eat, Was supposed to be a short day. Halfway through the day my lack of sleep caught up to me and all i wanted in the world was an icecream cone and donuts. Managed to get black coffee and avoid the donuts. And then i walked my butt home at 2pm Made a good meal and banana nicecream
Funny how lack of sleep effects you21 -
Two people at my gym who hadn’t seen me in awhile stopped me this am & told me how good I looked in the crowded fitness center. Felt good to get public recognition like that21

I was able to wrap a towel completely around me today! It is a big towel, but I couldn't do it before, so I'm happy!24

My daughter took me to the movies today.
Something I rarely do. ( For fear of not fitting in the chairs).
I sat in the chair and looked down. I had plenty of room each side of the seat. My arms fitted comfortably on the armrest.
I cried. Overwhelmed with the realisation, that for my entire adult life, I have squished into those chairs. My enormous thighs spilling over onto the occupant beside me. My large batwings, always hogging the armrest. My legs cramping, because they were so squished.
I am 51 years old.
I was overwhelmed with emotion.
So to each of you, struggling on this journey, feeling you are never going to make it.
Take heart. It is going to happen.
These “Little Victories” are stepping stones on the road to your goal.
It’s just one step at a time.

Recreating this photo and being able to see the difference!

I’ve just started (again!) but this morning I was at the zoo with the little boy I look after and was overcome with hunger suddenly. Nothing available was healthy other than a very small basket of fruit. I had an apple and passed over the chocolate croissants and pastries and chicken and everything. Small thing but definitely a victory for me when I was so hungry.31

What a wonderful feeling!! I'm so happy for you10 -
Two NSVs:
#1) My boyfriend and I have been talking about getting married. He made the comment that he'll have to get creative to check my ring size before he proposes since I've been getting so skinny(!). I made some flippant comment how I'm sure it hasn't really changed, I've always had chubby sausage fingers. So out of curiosity I tried on a few rings at the store yesterday...GUYS. I've gone down TWO whole ring sizes! Sausage fingers no more! Perhaps by the time I hit my GW I'll have the long, elegant fingers I've always dreamed of!
#2) Some girlfriends came to town for a weekend visit. We made an impulse decision to go snowboarding. I was able to not only find the snowpants I wore in college, but they also fit(mostly)! A bit snug, and I had to leave them unzipped(bib type). But I was able to get them on over my hips/butt which was a freakin miracle!29 -
Maybe TMI, but my bra unhooked under my shirt yesterday (twice). Once was on my way out of the office. I thought maybe the hooks bent, but no -- it's too big! I had to lose the extender this morning. I've been using those for years!25
-
My size (goal) pants are all getting super baggy and I havent worn the next size down since high school but I would probably fit them now.23
-
I owned the hotel breakfast buffet bar this morning - after opening the chafing dish labeled "pork sausage" and looking at it, I closed it without taking any, walked over to the fruit, and made myself a nice parfait.36
-
Went to lunch with a colleague last week and order the cobb salad (sans blue cheese and dressing). The wait staff asked if I wanted the half or whole salad......never had anyone ask the question before.24

It's absolutely frigid here today...I'm actually missing those 62 pounds of insulation. I'm freezing!!! Lol
I feel you.
I'm bundled up with so many layers it's ridiculous. Almost 80lbs lost here... all of it insulation...
I thought it was just me.....40 degrees feels like -20 to me. Down 156lbs.13 -
I just measured my hips and I'm down to 42.75 inches! A great start to the new year. I'm slowly getting closer to my goal of 39-40inches. In December I was 43 inches. I may not be in the 130s yet but I'll take less inches! Btw I started last year January '17 with hips of 48 inches. So I've lost 6 inches in a year! I'm working on toning my abs now. My waist is 26.5inches. So far I've been doing my in home ab exercises since the 1st. I know it will be slow but I'm giving myself 3 months to really see significant results. I'm already looking forward to summer!
Also, I started my summer shopping. Retailers are offering some really good discounts now. It feels good to able to find super cheap cute/classy/sexy tops and dresses that can fit me anywhere from size 2-6 or XS to Small17 -
My friend mailed a ton of homemade cookies. I had a few little bites here and there, but my husband basically ate them all. They weren’t even horribly tempting sitting there in the cupboard21

My resting heart rate used to be around 120. I could feel it pounding and it was so uncomfortable especially when i tried to sleep. I went to CVS minute clinic the other day, and my rate was at 62! All that lifting really helps!30
-
There's a lady at my gym who was lifting heavy with free weights the first time I went in, and seeing her there helped me feel more confident doing the same thing. I've seen her only occasionally since then, as we are on different schedules. But today I finally worked up the nerve to walk over and introduce myself, and tell her I find her inspirational. She's very nice and we had a great talk!26

I work in a large hospital. I needed to reach my 8000 step a day minimum step goal so I decided to go for a walk. I not only walked throughout parts of the hospital that I've never seen before (I'm in my 30th year here), I walked up 7 flights of stairs the walked across the entire building, went down a flight and walked back on the next lower level and repeated that until I got back to the first floor. Then I went into the other building an did it again. I LOVE that I can do this now.38

Worked in a four story building for awhile. Three stairwells. Start at one end - climb up the stairs. Walk to the next stairwell - walk down. Walk to the other stairwell. Climb up. Lather - rinse - repeat for 20 or 30 minutes. Makes a great workout in the winter when it's cold outside. Well done, Gail!

I used to do this in my 20 story apartment building! Walk up 1 flight, down the hallway to the next flight of stairs, up again. Then I started doing it in 2 or 3 flight blocks and jogging the hallway. Great indoor workout!16 -

This is also awesome and inspiring7 -
Had to fly for the first time in a while (actually 4 flights last week) and i was shocked at how much more comfortable it was flying without those 55 pounds attached to me.22

Tomorrow is my birthday and for the first time I can remember I haven't continued 'Christmas eating'! Normally I just go oh well I'll start after New Year... Oh I'll start after my birthday...etc! Straight after boxing day I went back to logging and losing!29

I was a little discouraged today when swimming laps. I had to stop after half an hour because of some tendonitis in my arm. I normally aim for 45 minutes. As I was getting out of the pool, the woman in the next lane over stopped me and told me that she was amazed at my endurance. We got talking and I told her all about MFP because she wanted to know my "trick" for losing weight. Her husband died after bariatric surgery (underlying issues) so she didn't want to go that route.
So what seemed discouraging ended up being the opposite as I was able to encourage someone else (who also encouraged me with her compliments).51 -
My parents and I spent some time together over Christmas after not having seen each other for two years (I live overseas). They were so proud of my weightloss, and they didn't even have to say it, I could see it in the way they looked at me and talked about me.
I could not get over how my mom (my never-has-been-even-remotely-overweight mom) would ask: "What are you having for dinner?" and then proceed to order the same. As in, now she looks to me for nutritional guidance. Unheard of!! It's a great note to start the new year on :-)39 -
Two more NSV this week for me. The pants that I just recently bought that were a bit snug at time of purchase were able to be taken off without unbuttoning them. And my belt made finally made it to the final notch this morning - will be a while before that's comfortable, but made it!14
