So we're setting up for the third phase of boot camp this morning. Core workout on the mats. The trainer was demonstrating a new move called the Scorpion. I (jokingly) complained loudly "We can't do that. There's old people working out here". Guy yells out from across the gym "I don't see any".
He made my day. Before 7 AM. #ilovegymrats22 -
i decided that i would list a couple of my old pairs of trousers on ebay today- as i won't be needing them ever again- i was wearing these 21months ago- when i look in the mirror day in an day out i see the same old me looking back as the pounds come off slowly- but sometimes a photo can remind you how far you have come!! 21 month-164lbs-62"waist to 46" waist- the journey continues--- if you are just starting your journey it will seem daunting- but the day you start is a day nearer reaching your goals.. don't give up.And take starting Photos!!

My NSV is going home to visit family after Christmas and having my family tell me I look so good. We moved in August to another state so it's been a while since they have seen me. Made my month.22

My NSV was when I tried on the red dress I haven't been able to zip up for 2+ years and it fit comfortably enough for me to wear to a Christmas celebration! It is 2 sizes down from most of my jeans which confirms my suspicions that I'm losing it all up top first. LOL, I'll take it!25

1 In my previous relationships I've been very jealous. I realised the other day that in the 1 1/2 years I've been seeing my current partner I have not once felt like that. Amazing what a difference a bit of confidence makes!
2 I finally did the chainsaw course I'd been putting off because I'd look silly in the protective gear and getting tired quickly would be embarrassing.
3 I wore a dress with a bit of cleavage for the first time on new year's and I felt hot! (cleavage has always been a nono for me)23 -
Not needing indigestion tablets to get through the day29

Those 10 plus year old jeans that never fit me until a month or so ago are too big. I am going to have to give them away. A new pair of Levi's I got for Christmas fall off without a belt. I need a new wardrobe again.21

A friend recently described me as "a very good dancer" to another friend. This resonated with me in particular because one of the various reasons I decided I needed to take action about my weight was that I had I tried to dust off some Latin dance moves in front of a full-length mirror at home, but since I'd gained so much weight—especially through the middle—I couldn't detect my own hip action. I looked like a thick tube tipping this way and that. Such a sad sight
Talking about dancing - I looove dancing, and my youtube Zumba collection consists mostly of videos with Latin upbeat music. So a couple of months ago there was an open air concert, where the last hour we had a band that played Gypsy Kings/Spanish guitars kind of music. They played for an hour. I danced through that whole hour - non stop! I enjoyed myself tremendously, I lost myself to music and couldn't care less how sweaty I looked, or how overweight I was (still had about 60lb to goal at the time), or what others around me thought of my dancing. Well, a couple of weeks ago the organizer of that concert approached me at another gathering and asked me - "where did you learn to dance so? I was so jealous, I wanna dance like that as well!" I was floored. Somebody was looking at me at that event, and somebody liked how I danced... That was one of those moments where you just swell with all those feelings and feel HAPPY for days to come34 -

Back into my low-cal eating habits- copious amts of tea, not feeling very hungry in the morning, and not really wanting anything too filling for lunch. Not eating out of boredom like I was at home during Christmas break. It feels sooo good to not be bloated!18

Day 5 of no coffee (nothing wrong with coffee, I just happen to HATE black coffee and REALLY like "a little coffee with my cream/flavored creamers" so to speak). This is day 5 of drinking low (to no)caffeine/no cal oolong and various green and herbal teas (with no sugar or sweeteners) instead of coffee. This is also day 5 of drinking water only instead of caloried drinks (nothing wrong with caloried drinks, just giving coffee and caloried drinks a break for the next 35 days--total of 40 days). I'm also attempting for the next 40 days to get at least 7-8 solid hours of sleep per night.14

You might like Jordan's "Skinny Syrups". Zero calories I switched from sugar and creamer to just this and love it! Tiramisu is my favourite.4 -
I went crazy and ate 8 cookies after lunch today. But, the nsv is that I logged it and then I logged my dinner for tonight and I am still within my calories for the day.24

My motivation win!
Everyday I go to the gym, on the way out I pick up a purple candy from their front desk, I dislike that little purple bowl of temptation,
But not anymore!
Everyday I go to the gym on the way out I still pick up a purple candy from their front desk, but not to eat but to put into my motivation jar.
When I hit my goal of 25 candies per month I am giving them to my daughter's work. (They have a community candy dish.)
When I don't get to the "purple candies " gym and work out elsewhere,I put $.50 in my jar. (For a Green Tea for myself every 2 months or so.)
So far this year I have $.50 and two purple candies!
So long nemesis candy dish...Hello, purple bowl of motivation!45 -
I noticed the other day that when I get out of the tub and wrap the towel around me, it actually covers all my lady parts! Before the bottom of the towel did not quite reach around me and left parts exposed.29
-
I noticed today that I actually love wearing my hair up now. I used to leave my hair down to cover my double chin and my neck but I don't feel the need to do that anymore.22
