I noticed today that I actually love wearing my hair up now. I used to leave my hair down to cover my double chin and my neck but I don't feel the need to do that anymore.22

My motivation win!
Everyday I go to the gym, on the way out I pick up a purple candy from their front desk, I dislike that little purple bowl of temptation,
But not anymore!
Everyday I go to the gym on the way out I still pick up a purple candy from their front desk, but not to eat but to put into my motivation jar.
When I hit my goal of 25 candies per month I am giving them to my daughter's work. (They have a community candy dish.)
When I don't get to the "purple candies " gym and work out elsewhere,I put $.50 in my jar. (For a Green Tea for myself every 2 months or so.)
So far this year I have $.50 and two purple candies!
So long nemesis candy dish...Hello, purple bowl of motivation!
Love this.

Sickness (flu?) has been "looming" all around me for the past month--I mean it seems everyone I know or have come into contact with for the past month has been sick with the "flu"--and of course, as we've all been trained, "this is the cold-flu season" so, just a day or so ago...it's tried to rear it's yucky head in me. All the usual suspects of the yuckiness of illness, nose blowing until it hurt, sneezing, sore throat, all the TMI mess associated with sickness/colds/flu. So why am I posting this as an NSV? Because I simply REFUSED to give this sickness ANY place at all--I REFUSE to bow down to it with feeling sorry for myself or anything negative at ALL. I'm drinking lots of water, teas, and good old fashioned homemade chicken soups--lots of liquids. What's amazing is, as I've refused to "give in" to the woe(s) is me and instead am pampering myself with fabulous rest and relaxation and JOY and gratitude (yep, even for this sickness), because I'm thinking about how much I can take for granted my usual and everyday good health and wellness, so this yuck sickness is helping me appreciate wellness all the more. PLUS my appetite is not what is usually is, so as this "thing" departs from me, I'm pretty sure the scale will reflect it, so BOOM--big ole NSV for me. Sickness? Bring it--all I got for you sickness is joy unspeakable, thankfulness/gratitude for being ready, willing and able to fight it off and the probable weight-loss I'll get, so there sickness, can't WON'T keep me down AT ALL and ALL the down time will be spent being even more joy-filled and positive and treating myself like a princess, period.

I almost had myself convinced to go get Chinese food. I decided I would stick with oatmeal (ate lunch for breakfast this morning) This is great because normally, Chinese takes all my daily calories in one meal.12

I used to cross country ski years ago and then through my weight gaining years I let it go. But then I started enjoying it again at the beginning of my weight loss journey and it became part of my winter cardio. Fast forward a couple of years and I'm now in maintenance. I fell today while skiing and realized something. When I weighed over 200 pounds and fell, it was such a performance getting upright again. But today I just kind of bounced back up. There's so much less of me to haul up, plus I'm so much stronger. And it was my husband who noticed the change, not me!26

Today I'm just proud I made it through another day.
Sticking to my healthy habits has been hard this week. Appetite has been out of control, scale hasn't moved in a week (normal fluctuation), and I haven't exercised in weeks due to an injury, waiting on rotator cuff surgery. I'm 141 days in, 33lbs down, 27 to go.
All week long I've reminded myself that it's ok that I don't feel motivated, because motivation doesn't cause weight loss. Eating at a deficit, consistently, causes weight loss. So that is what I will keep doing.
And that's a victory I'm proud of.39
