Today I'm just proud I made it through another day.
Sticking to my healthy habits has been hard this week. Appetite has been out of control, scale hasn't moved in a week (normal fluctuation), and I haven't exercised in weeks due to an injury, waiting on rotator cuff surgery. I'm 141 days in, 33lbs down, 27 to go.
All week long I've reminded myself that it's ok that I don't feel motivated, because motivation doesn't cause weight loss. Eating at a deficit, consistently, causes weight loss. So that is what I will keep doing.
And that's a victory I'm proud of.39 -

This week marks 2 years since I went gluten free due to a suspicion that I was gluten sensitive - my psoriasis is almost completely gone now and I haven’t needed the expensive topical ointment in almost a year now.
I am looking forward to my first beach holiday in 3 years because now people won’t be looking at me like I have a contagious disease when they see me in my bathing suit! Next Saturday starts vacation and I am ready to go!

Darn awesome button is gone! That is simply fantastic, so happy for you.
As a teenager (eons ago lol) on of my best friends suffered with psoriasis and I learned a lot about how she attempted (but as often as not failed) to keep it under control. It always seemed to know when would be the absolute worst time to flare up too. Nobody should have to deal with that and glad to hear you are doing so much better!7 -
Someone referred to me as the skinny one.
I cried tears of joy!!!!26 -
Ate popcorn, cookies and wine tonight for dinner. Now eating a Mint Milano cookie. Not a single green leafy vegetable anywhere. I don’t feel like some lousy dieting failure. I feel like a freakin’ rebel! I’m glad I discovered you don’t have to be perfect every single day.39

I sooo know how you feel/felt. I have psoriasis and have had it for almost 40 years. 40 years of people staring, or shuffling sideways, or kids asking their parents "what's wrong with that lady's skin?". 40 years of various medications that sometimes worked and sometimes didn't.
Because I then developed psoriatic arthritis, I was on a medication that cleared my psoriasis up completely but I still had "shadowy" areas where the skin was still healing (had to stop the medication as it was damaging my nervous system but that's another story). My children wanted to go swimming so I went with them, reluctantly as I knew my skin wasn't completely healed, expecting the usual stares and gawping from those that don't understand that I am not going to contaminate them but there were none. For the first time in nearly 40 years, nobody looked twice at me.
It was so liberating! To be "normal" for the first time in my adult life. But it's sad that I was made to feel like that, and writing this just proves that my experience was not about ME and my genetic issues but about how awful society is to those who don't fit the mold.
Really, really enjoy your holiday!
Am off to look into dietary aspects of keeping auto-immune diseases at bay now . . .21 -
Thanks for the support @ryenday and @Madwife2009. I still get flare ups (mainly scalp, nose, elbows, and knees), but the extent to which I feel comfortable in my own skin now feels nothing short of miraculous some days.
Glad there are people on these forums who can appreciate this NSV in a meaningful way.12 -
My sister's wedding is in June. Last night I went with the group to go bridesmaid dress shopping. I was convinced nothing would be in my size. There wasn't any in my size, but the next size down, several actually and I figured they might not zip but I could get an idea. They zipped AND hooked like they were suppose to with little to know effort. I am a size smaller than I thought!!!!! I got to try on pretty dresses like everyone else!!!!! It made me so happy cause I was really stressed about it.51

I almost had myself convinced to go get Chinese food. I decided I would stick with oatmeal (ate lunch for breakfast this morning) This is great because normally, Chinese takes all my daily calories in one meal.
I feel you!! I DID have Chinese but had a lunch size & went with my daughter so we shared...otherwise I would have had it ALL!! Plus only water to drink!!10 -
This week I’ve stayed within calories (so far but plan to through the weekend!) and stuck with my 15hr fasting between dinner & breakfast! Usually stop eating at 7pm and have breakfast at 10am!11

I saw my hair bouncing up and down as I walked past a shop window, as opposed to swinging side to side as I lumbered past. It was awesome.28
