No weight loss in 4 days why?

I haven't lost any weight in four days, despite eating well using mfp as a guide ( as normal) and training lots. I started on 2nd Jan and lost a bit initially.
A little frustrated.This happen to anyone else?
I have done some chunky cardio sessions ( xc skiing for a few hours) , basically burning half of my days calorie intake.
if we take Sunday for example. 1850 calories target. I ate 1855 calories whilst supposedly burning 995 calories of 100 minutes xc skiing. No weight loss.
Yesterday 1850 calories target , I ate 2000 calories. I felt.light headed around 10am Cycled to work , 35 mins each way plus 60 minutes of weight training , approx 600 calories. And repeat basically except for rest day on Saturday where I do nothing.
I have lost weight and I'm slim at 74.7 kilo, but trying to figure out what is happening. I was 80.3 kilo when I started in October before Christmas, got down to 75. had a week off of boozing and food at Christmas and went up to 77 kilo.

four days isn’t enough time to really know... I’d give it at least a week before worrying about no loss. You’re not gonna lose substantial weight in a short time13

You won't lose weight every day.
The human body doesn't work that way.21 -
Because it's been 4 days...
Weight loss isn't linear, so pounds likely aren't going to fall off the scale like clockwork each week. You definitely don't lose weight everyday. Patience is going to be your best friend in this process. You didn't gain it all in a day, and you're not going to lose it all in a day, either.
If you'd said 4 WEEKS, it would be a different story...15 -
As others have said, weight loss isn't linear. You're not going to lose every day, or even perhaps every week.
More concerning though is the fact you appear not to be eating exercise calories back. MFP calorie goals are set based on your day to day activity excluding exercise, so you are actually underfuelling yourself. No wonder you felt lightheaded yesterday. For example, on Sunday you only netted 860 calories. That is way too low. You need to be eating 50-75% of those calories back.13 -
.5kg of fat is equal to about 3600 calories; so you need a deficit of at least 3600 calories to lose 0.5kg of fat.
Most of your daily weight fluctuations come from your retained water - this goes up and down depending on what you eat (salt/carbs can increase retention), from your period for women, and from going to the bathroom.
You can lose 3kg in a week if you started bloated and retaining a lot of water and then have a couple of low carb, low salt days, drink well and do some cardio; but that it only water loss, not fat.
Actual weight loss takes time; if you want to see it on a scale, log your weight everyday at the same time and in the same state (i.e. first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom) - some days it will be higher, some lower, but if you are in a deficit it should trend downwards over time8 -

In addition to the above, your working out, so your muscles are retaining fluid for repair8

It happens.
When I was losing weight, I'd see a loss on Friday and Saturday mornings, and the rest of the week, I stayed the same. That's just how it worked for me.
Kind of tied in with the quantity of exercise I did on the weekend ... and probably an increased salt consumption on the weekend as well.1 -
You can't expect to see progress in 4 days...come back in a months time and tell us then how you're doing.7

Het, if we could all do this and lose a pound a day it would be easy.1

I would also caution against believing the calories burned exercising ..... I try never to eat back more than half my exercise calories - they are just too vague and subjective.2

weight loss and weight management in general is about long term trends. It isn't a linear function and body weight isn't static...it fluctuates up and down and all around in the short run...you have to look at long term trends.
This isn't mine, but this is what weight loss looks like on a graph...
It pretty much looks the same for just about everyone...4 -

Are you sure you’re calculating calories burned correctly? Skiing for 1.5 and burning 1000 sounds like a lot.0

You are fairly lightweight, and I would guess that cross country skiing burns about similar calories as running: the jump against gravity is missing, but friction is bigger obviously. 1000kcal sounds a lot in 90 minutes unless you went all out.0 -
Yeah and I ate healthy and exercised for 2 whole days IN A ROW and my body didn't magically put me at my goal weight.....geeeeeeeeez lol2

I love posts like this. I have been dieting 4 hours why have a not lost weight. Come on people if you really need to lose weight just how long did it take to put it on? Fat when burned does not just MELT off from your body. If you need to lose a few pounds it is gonna take some time.1

Thats cool if you don't believe me! XC skiing uses serious amounts of calories per hour, way way more than running. Typical standard accepted figure is 1000 calories per hour I believe.
Apologies if you guys think it was a dumb post, I don't know what to expect hence asking. Good luck all with your weight loss endeavours, keep fighting the good fight.

Hey it never hurts to ask if you're unsure, but it's the internet so you have to expect people might be mean or sarcastic, etc. You did get a few real answers to your question, so now you have an answer. What you do with that answer is up to you now.1
